York Baseball Breaks Ground On New Baseball Building

The York Baseball team is currently wrapping up the 2017 season, but the program is already invested in projects to upgrade the grounds and elevate the program in 2018.

Coaches, players, and boosters broke ground Monday, May 1st, on the teams new multi-purpose building adjacent to Dragon Field. The building will consist of a concession stand, restrooms, a press box, and locker rooms.

The project is being funded by the efforts of the York Baseball Booster Club and donations of material and labor from members of the community.

The team successfully completed massive upgrades to the practice facility and field surface prior to this season.

The building project is one of many things going on at the field. New purple windbreaks are being installed on the fences, new netting is being installed on the back stop, decals are being added to the exterior sides of the dugouts, batting cages are being constructed, and parking lots are being improved. The property continues to be landscaped and signage is being upgraded. York Administration continues to work on field lights.

The team would like to express gratitude to every business and individual that has supported these projects. The group hopes these efforts will be a benefit for the school, players, and fans for years to come.
