Saturday, August 27, 2016 the Fentress County Bulldogs traveled to Crossville to take on the Stone Memorial Panthers. They came away with a dominating 41-0 victory.

The Bulldog Coaches are mixing their plays, and it kept their opponents guessing, so therefore they found themselves out of position. The Bulldogs relied mostly on their running game, with several different plays that ran out of the same formation. The Bulldogs have also shown they are very capable of passing the ball.

The Bulldogs scored on six of their seven possessions. The running game completely controlled the game. The Bulldogs rushed for 246 yards on 21 runs scoring five touchdowns. The Bulldogs also passed for one touchdown.

The Bulldogs defense was just as strong on their side of the ball. The Panthers had ten offensive plays in the first half, and gained only 4 yards with no first downs. The defense continues to dominate in the second half holding the Panthers to only 65 yards for the game.

The Bulldogs scored on their first possession on a 18 yard run by (41) Helbig. The Bulldogs ran in the extra point to take a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs defense stopped the Panthers forcing a punt. The Bulldogs scored on the third play of this drive with a 32 yard run by (8) Barger.. The Bulldogs complete a pass for the extra point to lead 15-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Bulldogs then recovered their own kickoff putting them in a position to score 5 plays later on a 3 yard run by (41) Helbig leading the game 21-0. The defense stopped the Panthers once again allowing the offence to get the ball. The Bulldogs had their second touchdown of the night to be called back by a penalty. The first half ended 2 plays later resulting in the only possession that the Bulldogs did not score. The Bulldogs held on to their 21-0 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs continued to dominate the game in the second half. After the Panthers kickoff, the Bulldogs scored another touchdown on their first play of the drive with a 50 yard run by (41) Helbig. This brought the Bulldogs lead to 27-0.

The Panthers started at their own 38 yard line following the Bulldogs kickoff. The Panthers finally got a first down only to be stopped on the drive by the Bulldogs defense. The Bulldogs offence once again scored a touchdown on a 67 yard run by (8) Baiger. The Bulldogs got the extra point with a completed pass which brought their lead to 35-0.

The next series more of the same with the Bulldogs defense stopping the Panthers, which resulted in the Bulldogs offence possessing the ball. The Bulldogs offence then scored yet again on a pass from (10) Bilbery to (12) Smith for a 15 yard touchdown allowing the Bulldogs to take an even bigger lead 41-0.

The Panthers got their second first down of the game   late in the fourth quarter after the Bulldogs kickoff. The  game came to an end with the Bulldogs taking a dominating win 41-0.

The Bulldogs next game will be at home on Saturday, September 3rd against the Crossville Jets. Watching the Bulldogs play football is very exciting and fun to watch. Come out to the game and support your local Bulldogs.

The Fentress County Junior Bulldogs had their first loss of the season Saturday, August 27 against the Stone Memorial Panthers.

The Bulldogs fought a long hard game only to be defeated by the Panthers with a score of 43-0.

Peewee AJN_2008Bulldog Pee Wees Knock Off Defending Champion Stone Memorial

Fentress County Bulldog Pee Wees defeated defending conference champions Stone Memorial Junior Panthers 7-0 on Saturday, in Crossville.  The lone touchdown of the game was scored on a reverse from Garrison Garrett to Nathaniel Cobb.  Landon Robbins followed up the play be executing the dive play for the extra point.  The entire defense stood their ground to hold the Jr. Panthers scoreless.  The Pee Wees will take on the Cumberland County Jr. Jets this Saturday, at home at 2 p.m.
