Shopping Spree Said “One of Best Ever”

The annual Jamestown Rotary Club Children’s Shopping Spree, held Saturday, December 19, was termed as “One of the Best Ever.”

This was the 60th consecutive year for the event, which began in 1957 by the Jamestown Jaycees.  The Jamestown Rotary Club assumed sponsorship of the progam some 35 years ago, and has continuously sponsored the project since that time.

Faye Stephens, who has coordinated the project for the past several years, commented after the very successful event on Saturday, stating:

“The 60th Anniversary Shopping Spree is now in the history books, and was a overwhelming success.  The support has been outstanding.  We had almost every club from Clarkrange High School and York Institute here helping us today.  All these young people were a tremendous help.
