Rotary Club Horse Show Set July 19th

The 54th Annual Fentress County Horse Show, sponsored by the Jamestown Rotary Club, will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014, beginning at 5:00 p.m. (CDST) at the Fentress Co. Fairgrounds in Jamestown.

The annual event is traditionally one of the top shows in Middle Tennessee, and always draws a large number of quality horses.  This year should be no exception, with 30 classes from the stick horse class for the youngsters to the Walking Stake Class.  There will also be numerous other classes featuring walking, racking and pleasure horses and this year includes the addition of several western and pleasure classes.

“We’ve modified some classes to accommodate requests we’ve had in the past years, which we think will attract a wider variety of entries, and we are anticipating another great show,” said Show Chairman Crystal Tompkins.

“We’re also an Upper Cumber-land high point show, and we also have several Rider’s Cup classes this year, she added.

Judge for this year’s show will be John Highsmith, with Todd Burnett serving as Master of Ceremonies, Rodney Jones as Ringmaster, Wayne Nabors as Organist, and Dr. Jack Upchurch as Veterinarian.

Trophies and ribbons will be given in all classes except the Stick Horse Class, where each entry will receive a blue ribbon and $1.00.
