Republican Party Reagan Day Dinner June 17 Well Attended

HONORED FOR SERVICE:
8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler, above right, was recognized for his outstanding service to the people of Fentress County and across the District at the Reagan Day Dinner held Saturday by the Fentress County Republican Party. General Effler then presented Fentress County Deputy Sheriff Jason Duncan with the 2017 Fentress County Law Officer of the Year award. This award is given annually to the law enforcement officer chosen by his peers who best exemplifies service and dedication to his profession.

The Fentress Co. Republican Party held its annual Reagan Day Dinner Saturday evening, June 17 at Clarkrange High School.

Many Upper Cumberland Republican leaders, county and state officials, candidates and voters came out to hear the keynote speaker, Ron Ramsey, former Tennessee Lieutenant Governor.

The event was well attended, with some 150 present.

The evening got underway with Chairman Edd Stephens welcoming the crowd. Presentation of Colors by the Clarkrange JROTC, the Pledge to the Flag led by Jewell Draper and the National Anthem sung by Julianne Horst.

Following invocation by Mark Houser, those in attendance enjoyed  an outstanding dinner prepared by Clarkrange High School FCCLA.  During the dinner, entertainment was provided by Katie and Emmie Slaven.

State Republican Executive Committeeman Jim Cobb, who served as moderator for the event, then recognized several special guests, and presented a special award recognizing 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler for his outstanding service to the people of Fentress County and across the District.

General Effler then presented Fentress County Deputy Sheriff Jason Duncan with the 2017 Fentress County Law Officer of the Year award.  Deputy Duncan was chosen for this award by his peers.

In making the presentation, District Attorney General Effler stated “It is an honor to be able to present this award to such a deserving officer.”
