One Seriously Injured In Head-On Collision Monday

A Jamestown man, identified as Larry H. Garrett, sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on the Jamestown By-Pass Monday when the Chevrolet pickup was struck by a Toyota pickup driven by Jason Crouch, also of Jamestown.

A two-vehicle head-on collision which occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27 resulted in serious injuries to a Jamestown resident.

The accident occurred near the Highway 154 bridge on the Jamestown By-Pass, involving a 2000 Chevrolet S-14 pickup truck, driven by Larry H. Garrett of Jamestown, and a 1996 Toyota Pickup, driven by Jason Crouch, also of Jamestown.

Reports indicated that Mr. Garrett was traveling north on Highway 127 when the southbound Crouch Toyota crossed the center line and struck Garrett’s Chevrolet head-on.

Mr. Garrett was transported by Fentress County Ambulance Service to Jamestown Regional Medical Center where he was treated and later airlifted to U-T Hospital in Knoxville, reportedly in serious condition.

Mr. Crouch was not reported to be injured in the accident, which was investigated by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Gibson, who was assisted at the scene by officers from the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department, the Fentress County Rescue Squad and EMA, Ambulance Service, and Unit 1 of the Fentress County Volunteer Fire Department.

The accident is still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
