WreckIMG_3376A 55-year-old Smithville man was injured in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 127 north shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 11.  According to reports, Ronald Glenn Young was taveling north on Highway 127 and descending the long grade north of the Squirrel Flat Road when he lost control of the 2011 Mack dump truck he was driving, left the road on the left side, and overturned.   Mr. Young was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by technicians from the Fentress County Rescue Squad and Ambulance Service.  He was transported by ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to an out of town hospital for more specialized treatment. The truck, owned by H Company LLC of McMinnville, was demolished in the accident, which was investigated by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Glen Slaven, assisted at the scene by officers from the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Department, Rescue Squad, EMS, Ambulance Service, and Fire Department.  This was the second dump truck accident at the same location in less than two weeks.
