ONE INJURED

A 22-year-old Grimsley man, identified as Michael Jerkins, was injured Friday, April 22 in a single-vehicle accident on the Banner Road when his 1987 Jeep Wrangler left the road and overturned.  Mr. Jerkins was airlifted from a landing zone set up at the Church of the Harvest in Grimsley to U-T Hospital in Knoxville for treatment.  The accident was investigated by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Marty Brown, assisted by officers from the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Office, EMS, EMA, the Fentress Co. Rescue Squad, and the  Grimsley and Clarkrange units of the Fentress County Volunteer Fire Department.  Mr. Jerkins was cited for violation of the open container law, driving with expired registration, and no insurance.
