Wilma Lee Allred, age 80, of Cookeville, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Allred was born June 18, 1933 in Jamestown, TN. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.

Mrs. Allred is survived by her of husband of 63 years, Bernard Hollins Allred;  daughter; Connie (Jim) Maddux of Sparta TN; two sons,  William (Darla) Allred of Xenia, OH and Edward (Renee) Allred of Humble, TX; daughter-in-law, Donna Allred of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother; Howard Ray Sewell of Clarkrange TN; two sisters, Silvia Hendricks of Las Vegas, NV and Peggy (John) Blevins of Austin, TX.

Mrs. Allred was preceded in death by parents, William H. Sewell & Sitha Davis Sewell; son, Gary Allred; brother, Harold Sewell; and sister, Hazel Martin.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cookeville First Church Of The Nazarene with Rev. Kevin Thomas, Rev. James Staggs and Rev. Ed H. Allred officiating. Burial was held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Clarkrange, TN. Pallbearers included Jim Maddux, Howard Ray Sewell, Howard Dwight Allred, Dana Baldwin, Bill and Will Bennett.

Dyer  Funeral Home  of Cookeville, Tennessee was in charge of services.

Joan Arms, age 68, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Arms was born March 11, 1945 in Manila, Arkansas.  She was a title abstractor/legal clerical.

Mrs. Arms is survived by son, Bobby Arms and special friend Missy Jennings of Jamestown; three grandsons, Brian, Josh and Tyler Arms; two great-grandchildren, Xavier and Paige Arms; brother, Kenneth Bridges of Goshen, KY; two sisters, Barbara Johnson of Louisville, KY and Linda Conatser and husband Danny of Jamestown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Mrs. Arms was preceded in death by father, William Woodrow Bridges; mother, Shirley Uldene (Young) Bridges; and son, William “Billy” Arms.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Rhoad and Bro. Sammie Dunford officiating.  Burial followed in the Fentress Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers included Brian Arms, Josh Arms, Tyler Arms, Rick Hayes, James Pyle, Danny Conatser, Ian Shelton and Darrell Ward.

Peggy Burton, age 66, of the Riverton Community, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Burton was born January 3, 1947 in Fentress County, Tennessee.  She was a school bus driver.

Mrs. Burton is survived by husband, Tom Burton of the Riverton Community; two sons, Tom Burton, Jr. and Jason Burton both of New Jersey; daughter, Tammy Ruggiano of New Jersey; four grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Conatser and husband George of Indiana and Shirley Pryor and husband Harrison of Crossville; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by father, Joel Hubert Bertram; mother, Arrie (Jackson) Bertram; four sisters, Ruth Bowden, Norma Jean Wright and Dixie Nell Wright and an infant sister; three brothers, Hardy Bertram, David Bertram and Charlie Bertram; and half-brother, Colby Smith.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Reagan officiating.   Burial followed in the Andy Smith Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Tom Burton Jr., Jason Burton, Dom Mancini, Joron Ruggiano, Tom Burton III and Victor Ruggiano.

Wilborn Boyd Cook, age 75, of Clarkrange, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Signature HealthCARE of Fentress County.

Mr. Cook is survived by wife, Pauline Cook; two sons, Lyndon Gerald Cook and Glenn Allen Cook; two brothers, Roger and Everett; seven sisters, Linda, Glenda, Bonnie, Emogene, Barbara, Mary Lou and Betty; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by parents, Wilborn Denton and Hazel Barnett Cook; and two sons, Patrick and Mark Cook.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Rhoad officiating.  Burial followed in the Taylor Place Cemetery.

Virgil Cravens, age 80, of the Manson Community, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Cravens was born October 13, 1932 in Overton County, Tennessee.  He was a state worker/parks & recreation.

Mr. Cravens is survived by wife, Betty (Cooper) Cravens of the Manson Community; son, Gary Cravens and wife Billie of the Manson Community; daughter, Iva Nell Blevins and husband Gary of Dalton, GA; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Charlie Cravens and Willard Cravens and wife Dollie both of Jamestown.

Mr. Cravens was preceded in death by father, Dennis Cravens; mother, Ernie (Cooper) Cravens; two brothers, Willie Cravens and Boyd Quitman Cravens; and two sisters, Bertha Simpson and Hillie Simpson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Reagan and Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating.  Burial followed in the Coopertown Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Josh Blevins, Dustin Blevins, Rodney Cravens, Terry Cross, Carlos Choate and Austin Choate.

Betty Boles Crisp, age 89, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Signature HealthCARE of Fentress  County.

Mrs. Crisp is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Crisp was preceded in death by parents, Blaine and Ida Boles; husband, Zoral Crisp; three brothers, Warren, Walter and Justin Boles; and sister, Ruth Waymire.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Phil Adams officiating.  Burial followed in the Bolestown Cemetery.

James Arthur Fry, age 82, of Deer Lodge, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in the Standing Stone Health Care in Monterey.

Mr. Fry is survived by wife, Joyce Fry of Deer Lodge.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service at a later date.

Billy Graves, age 89, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Graves is survived by wife, Maxine Anderson Graves of Jamestown; two sons, Billy Wayne Graves of North Carolina and Marshall Dwight Graves and wife Marie of Smyrna, TN; three daughters, Wanda J. Kelton and husband Mike of Manchester, Joyce Crabtree and husband Roger of Jamestown and Janet Emory and husband Russell of Crossville; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Graves was preceded in death by parents, John and Molly Graves; and first wife, Clair Earlene Graves.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Sweat officiating.  Burial followed in the Wolf River Cemetery with military services conducted at grave side. Pallbearers included Alton Graves, Steve Cooper, Denton Lowe, Randy Bilbrey, Shannon Strong, Rudy Strong and Roger Crabtree.

Hershel Hall, age 81, of the Banner Springs  Community, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Mr. Hall was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Hall is survived by wife, Lola Ashburn Hall; two sons, Harvey Hall and wife Lisa and David Hall and wife Jennifer; daughter, Diane Drake and husband Terry; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Buddy Hall and wife Macie and Dale Hall and wife Linda; four sisters, Ruth Conatser, Ruby Beaty, Carolyn Norris and husband Claude and Mary Hedgecoth and husband Dennis; mother-in-law, Bernice Ashburn Young; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ashburn and wife Nancy and Elmer Ashburn and wife Charlene; sisters-in-law, Barbara Criswell and husband Gene and Peggy Young and husband Ron; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by parents, Leamon and Rosie Hicks Hall; four brothers, Clifford, Chester, Billy and Milton Hall; brothers-in-law, Shelby Conatser, Kenneth Beaty, Ezra and Robert Ashburn; and father-in-law, Elmer J. Ashburn.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Hoyt Looper and Bro. Kevin Whittenburg officiating.  Burial followed in the Spring Chapel Cemetery with military services conducted at the grave side.  Pallbearers included Dewayne Hall, Andy Hall, Ryne Drake, Ben Hall, Stephen Drake, Tyler Dalton, Terry Hall, J.R. Norris and Russell Beaty.

John Robert Hicks, age 64, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center.

Mr. Hicks was born September 17, 1948 in Banner Springs, Tennessee.  He was a truck driver/military.

Mr. Hicks is survived by son, Jerry Hicks and wife Tishia of Crossville; daughter, Renee Allred and husband Todd of Crossville; five grandchildren; seven sisters, Velma Miller of Monterey, Kathy Atkinson and husband Fred of Crossville, Sheila Shaver and husband Darryl of Clarkrange, Irene Keggress of Redkey, IN, Cleda Bonnevillon, Kay Hicks and Ann Davenport and husband Jim all of Dunkirk, IN; and three brothers, Minford Hicks and wife Linda of Dunkirk, IN, Mitchell Hicks and wife Judy of Crossville, TN and James Hicks and wife Linda of Knoxville, TN.

Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by wife, Wanda June Hicks; father, Least Hicks; mother, Oakley (Young) Hicks; two sisters, Betty Hembree and Rella Ramsey; and three brothers, William “Miller” Hicks, Manace Hicks and Jerry Hicks.

Funeral services were held Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange  Chapel of Jennings  Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene McCowan officiating.  Burial followed in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Jerry Hicks, Todd Allred, Steven Hicks, Adam Lee, Andrew Allred and Kiah Stewart.

Charles Jones, age 62, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Jones is survived by son, Paul David Jones; daughter, Amanda Sinnott; three brothers, Milbourne Jones and wife Sharon, Paul Jones and wife Lois and Franklin Jones and wife Sandy; two sisters, Teresa Grogan and Jennifer Pritchard and husband Michael; and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Rosetta Jones; son, Michael Charles Jones; two brothers, Calvin Jones and Walter Jones, Jr.; and sister, Barbara Woodruff.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. James Sparks officiating.  Burial followed in the Crockett Cemetery.

Myrtle Wright, age 89, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Wright was born November 20, 1923 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wright is survived by son, Robert Wright and wife Sheila of Allardt; daughter, Sandy Warden of Allardt; two sisters, Shirley Wright of Alpine and Linda Hoover of Jamestown; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and caregiver, Vicky Crabtree.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by husband, Carlis Wright; father, Robbie Crabtree; mother, Gertie (Pierce) Crabtree; two brothers, Guy Crabtree and Frank “Cotton” Crabtree; three sisters, Virginia Mullinix, Ova Gladys Crabtree and Loma Holt; half-brother, Clyde Pierce; and two infant brothers.
