Atkinson, Carmon 10-14-13




Carmon L. Atkinson, age 87, of Galion, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Heartland of Bucyrus.

Mr. Atkinson was born February 27, 1926 in Banner Springs, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Herbert and Gertie Mae (Cook) Atkinson.  He married Catherine (Stratton) Atkinson on June 21, 1952 who survives.

Mr. Atkinson was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre where he was a 2nd Class Baker.  He worked as a welder and machinist at Galion Dresser for 41 1/2 years.  He was a member of American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4329, Polk Township AMVETS Post 1979, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Galion Aerie 630 and Army-Navy Garrison 987.

Mr. Atkinson, in addition to his wife, is survived by two daughters; Peggy Neumann of Bucyrus and Pam and Doug Steele of Galion; four grandchildren, Heather (Darrin) Yarmesch, Wesley (Angie) Neumann, Matthew (Carrie) Steele and Cody (Monica) Steele; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Stella Olmstead of Jamestown, TN.

Mr. Atkinson was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home with Bishop Ted Thomas officiating.  Burial followed in Crawford County Memory Gardens where military graveside services were conducted by the United States Navy and Galion/Crestline Veteran’s Military Funeral Detail.

Robin West Cromwell001




Robin (West) Cromwell, age 51, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Cromwell was born November 19,1961 in Harriman, Tennessee.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Cromwell is survived by husband, Randy Cromwell of Jamestown; father, Bill West and wife Charlene of Jamestown; two sisters, Saundra West of London, KY and Victoria Crank and husband Richard of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Keith West and wife Amanda of Clarkrange; and ten nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cromwell was preceded in death by mother, Mary Ellen (Branstetter) West; brother, Kenny West; and sister-in-law, Brenda Gail West.

Mrs. Cromwell graciously donated her remains to medical research, in order to further knowledge in the field of organ donation.

Memorial services were held Sunday, October 20, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Cox officiating.

Ova Mae Reagan Looper, age 81, of Clarkrange, passed away  peacefully into the presence of the Lord after a brief illness at the home of her dear grandson and family, Wayne, Eva, and Dani Morgan on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

Mrs. Looper was born on April 24, 1932, in Fentress County, Tennessee, to the late Cortes and Elsie Reagan. She was owner and operator of Ova’s Casuals. She was a lifetime member of the baptist faith and enjoyed being in the choir at her local church. She enjoyed art and travel in the United States and also internationally. She loved getting together with family and friends for food and fun. She will be missed by her family and friends, but, all know that we will see her again.

Mrs. Looper is survived by daughter, Margaret Brandstetter of Crossville; three sons, David Morgan and Steve Threet both of Crossville and Randy Threet of Nashville; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Conway of Knoxville; two brothers, Dennis Reagan and Joe Reagan both of Elizabethtown, KY; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews that she also enjoyed spending time with.

Mrs. Looper, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, JB Looper; sister, Betty Burgess; and 2 brothers, Homer and Chester Reagan.

The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Michael Swallows and Rev. David Morgan will officiate.  Active Pallbearers include Dail Ramsey, Kody Hall, Tracey Edwards, Christopher Morgan, Tristian Brandstetter, and Luke Threet. Honorary pallbearers include Chevy Morgan, Corbin Hall, Carson Brandstetter, and Dawson Brandstetter.

Don Norris




Don Norris, age 75, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Norris is survived by three sons, Gary Norris and wife Lou, Jeffery Norris and wife Teresa and Darrell Norris and wife Teresa; daughter, Mona Lisa Norris; two sisters, Betty Reed and Linda Parsons; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Norris was preceded in death by parents, Cecil and Mazelle McDonald Norris; wife Joyce Norris; and brother, Bruce McDonald.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Burks officiating.  Burial followed in Fentress Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers included Gary Norris, Darrell Norris, Jeffery Norris, Brian Norris, Mike Parsons and Mark Parsons.

Claude Wright, age 65, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Wright was born August 13, 1948 in Fentress County, Tennessee.  He was a logger.

Mr. Wright is survived by daughter, Beverly (Wright) Berube and husband Wendell; two grandchildren; five brothers, Jerry Wright, Larry Wright and wife Sheree, Gary Wright and wife Robin, Johnny Wright and wife Kim and Carl Wright and wife Nancy; four sisters, Charlene Sidwell, Carol Smith and husband Tim, Carrie Wright and Bobbie Kaye Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by father, Everett Wright; mother, Ola (King) Wright; wife, Kathy Wright; an infant son; and sister-in-law, Patricia Wright.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Rhoad officiating. Military services at graveside provided by Hull-York Chapter 5 D.A.V.  Burial followed in the Wright’s Chapel Cemetery.  Members of the Hull-York Chapter 5 D.A.V. served as pallbearers.
