Eva MaloneEVA LEE MALONE

Mrs. Eva Lee Malone departed this life May 19th, 2013 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center after numerous battles with cancer and several surgeries and prolonged health issues.   Mrs. Lee was born August 8th, 1929, the daughter of Osba and Mabel Holler in Salem, Illinois.  Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Tom J. Malone, only 2 years ago, after 53 years of marriage.  She also was preceded in death by her parents and only brother, Farrell “Cotton” Holler.

In her early years after graduating from high school she began working at the county courthouse in Salem, Illinois doing deed and title searches for a local oil company.  This oil company eventually sent her to Jamestown where she met her husband Tom Malone while delivering a lease to a client’s home.  They were married just a few months later on November 30, 1958 and she settled into the auto parts business with Tom at Jamestown Auto Supply as his bookkeeper.  After their retirement from the auto parts business in 1991, they both became involved in the antique business.

Mrs. Lee and Tom were both faithful members of South Main Street Baptist Church throughout the 1960’s & 1970’s and served in several capacities and then later became charter members of Faith Baptist Tabernacle in 1980 where she also served as a Sunday School teacher and many other positions until her home-going.

Throughout her numerous health problems, she still always had a great testimony and was faithful to trust in the promises of the Word of God.  Her memory and Godly example will be forever treasured and she will be greatly missed by her family and her church family.  We know that our loss will be Heaven’s gain and we rejoice in knowing that she is now at peace and rest in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Faith Baptist Tabernacle with Dr. Paul Martin and Bro. Fred Allred officiating.  Burial followed in the Fentress Memory Gardens.
