WANDA ATKINSON

Wanda Atkinson, age 81, of the Banner Springs Community, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014.

Mrs. Atkinson is survived by husband, Ellis Atkinson; son, Brian Scott Atkinson and wife Marilyn; daughter, Rhonda Thompson; three grandchildren, Randy Thompson, Shaun Atkinson and wife Kelly and Kristen Atkinson; two great-granddaughters, Lily Grace Atkinson and Savannah Atkinson; nieces and nephews, Lora Atkinson, Donna Hannifin and husband Kenny, Sara and Dustin Hannifin; and other loved ones, Clara Human and Sherry Ramsey.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Springs Chapel Methodist Church.Burial followed in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.  Active pallbearers included Shaun Atkinson, Randy Thompson, Dustin Hannifin, Mike Hall, David Atkinson, Grant De La Torre, Sam Holloway and Kenny Hannifin.  Honorary pallbearers included Scoots and Opal Hargis, Bobby Atkinson, Danny Hall and all her friends at the Senior Citizens Center.

ROGER DALE COOPER

Roger Dale Cooper, age 61, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Cooper was born January 28, 1953 in Fentress County, Tennessee.  He was a logger.

Mr. Cooper is survived by wife, Rena (Rhoton) Cooper of Jamestown; three daughters, Angela Hamby, Amy Hamby and Anita Cooper and husband Jamie all of Jamestown; two step-daughters, Alicia Odle of Somerset, KY and Melissa Cooper and husband Shelby of Jamestown; son-in-law, Dwight Hamby of Jamestown; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene Norris, Jacqueline Whittenburg, Melissa Goney, and Melanie Hicks; and special friends, Boyd and Wendy Swales and Robert and Edith Haueisen.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by father, Gordon Cooper; mother, Velma Lee Cooper; mother of his children, Connie Sue Cooper; and brother, Donald Lee Cooper.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Cooper officiating.  Burial followed in the Sharp Place Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Dwight Hamby, Michael Hamby, Thomas Hamby, Robert Haueisen, Boyd Swales, Oscar Garcia and Delbert Rhoton.

Owen Creselious, age 89, of Grimsley, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Creselious was born May 19, 1924 in Putnam County, TN.  He was a veteran of the Navy.

Mr. Creselious is survived by several cousins and other family; special friends, Brendan, Inge, Dillon, Delaney and Sean McCann; and beloved dog, Dingo.

Mr. Creselious was preceded in death by father, George Creselious; mother, Marie (Willitt) Creselious; brother, John Creselious and sister, Camilia Peterson.

Memorial services were held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Creselious officiating. Military Services provided by Jamestown American Legion Post 137.  Jamestown American Legion Post 137 Members served as honorary pallbearers.

Vertie Delk, age 75, of Canton, Illinois formerly of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014.

Mrs. Delk is survived by daughters, Janet Delk and Jack Aylward and Jada and Brad Mosburg; grandchildren, Billy and Shelley Mosburg and Jena and Alex Higdon; great-granddaughter, Jessica Mosburg; sister, Nola Pennycuff; brother, Luther Delk.

Mrs. Delk was preceded in death by parents, Otha and Ader Bowden Delk; and siblings, Woneda, Roxie, Frankie, Otha Jr., Clayton, Dee, Jean, Everett, Shelby & Sheldon.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home.  Burial followed in the Franklin Cemetery.

RAY PETE PETERS

Ray Pete Peters, age 81, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Peters is survived by wife, Dixie Peters; son, Michael Wesley Peters; four daughters, Paula Florence, Patricia Mink, Janice Perry and Marianne Campbell; sister, Sue Kline; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

WILBURN PHILLIPS

Wilburn Phillips, age 54, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Phillips was born August 8, 1959 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a construction worker.

Mr. Phillips is survived by two brothers, Don Phillips and wife Michelle and Rodney Abbott and wife Michelle Smith both of Jamestown; and seven sisters, Effie Houston and husband Jerry, Martha  Wortham and husband J.R., Mary Phillips, Teresa Watson and husband J.D., Rachel Crabtree and Polly Clark and husband Kenneth all of Jamestown and Ollie Brown and husband Kenneth of Cookeville.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by father, Sam Phillips; mother, Lectie (Watson) Phillips; and brother, Sammie Joe Phillips.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Chambers and Bro. Sammie Dunford officiating.  Burial followed in the Katie Blevins Cemetery in Scott County, Tennessee.  Pallbearers included Jason Phillips, Josh Houston, William Phillips, Nathan Phillips, Kenny Clark, Dustin Smith, Joey Clark, Peggy Brown, Amanda Selby, Katelyn Crabtree, Jessica Wortham, Rebecca Crabtree, Jasmine Watson, Frankie Watson, Gabby Rich, Michaela Clark, Triston Abbott, Austin Watson, Adikus Crabtree and Jake Smith.

Edith Smith, age 78, of Clarkrange, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born February 12, 1936 in Fentress County, Tennessee.  She was a factory worker.

Mrs. Smith is survived by son, Terry Smith and wife Deena (Wilson) Smith of Clarkrange; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Zelda Sysco and Jeanette Ashburn both of Clarkrange.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husband, Junior Smith; father, Virgle Thomasson; mother, Laura (Ashburn) Thomasson; two sons, Johnny Shelton Smith and Ricky Smith; and brother, Shirley Thomasson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Jennings  Funeral Home with Bro. Alvin Copeland officiating.  Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Chris Smith, Tyler Sisco, Eugene Matheney, Danny Atkinson, Gale Atkins and Travis Atkins.
