L. E. Clayborn

L. E. Clayborn, age 90, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Clayborn is survived by son, Ronnie Clayborn and wife, Mary; daughter, Gail Densmore and husband, Robert; brother, Chester Clayborn; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Clayborn was preceded in death by wife, Anna Clayborn; son, Lonnie Clayborn; grandson, Lonnie Ray Clayborn, Jr.; parents, Mack and Lettie Atkins Clayborn; and several brothers and sisters.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

B.D. Cooper, age 74, of Bartonville, passed away and was called home by the Lord at 8:51 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

B. D. was born in Jamestown, Tenn., on April 6, 1940, the son of Casto and Roxie Cooper. He married Jo Linda Fitzpatrick on Jan. 26, 1962. She survives.

He is also survived by his children, Sherry Doran of Peoria, Sandra (Barry) Burton of Trivoli and Brian (Karen) Cooper of Washington; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Cooper and Danny Cooper of Bartonville; and two sisters, Hallie Duvall of Clarksville, Ohio, and Sue Huff of Jamestown, Tenn.

B.D. was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Randy Cooper.

B.D. worked at Rohn Manufacturing Company for 33 years, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed many years fishing, especially in Kentucky, and storytelling of the “good old days.” He was baptized at Northwoods Community Church on Aug. 25, 2013, alongside his son and his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May  24, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Jamestown Community Center.

Marvin Allen Doss, age 70, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center.

Mr. Doss was born March 17, 1945 in Fentress Co., TN.

Mr. Doss is survived by brother, Melvin Doss and wife, Barbara of Jamestown; sister, Bernice Childers and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Betty Doss; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Doss was preceded in death by father, Charlie Doss; mother, Fannie Belle (Sharp) Doss; brothers William Oakley Doss, Carl Doss, Clayton Doss, Clinton Doss, Martin Doss; and sisters Anthelen, Barbara, Betty, Hessie and Bonnie.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the  Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Tipton officiating. Burial followed in the Sharp Place Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jim Doss, Marty Doss, Lane Doss, Tommy Doss, Junior Wiggins, Tommy Wiggins, Gary Doss, Steve Doss, Gentry Gunter, Timmy Doss, Jason Wiggins, and Jamie Brown.

Janice F. Draughn, age 76, of Mt. Helen, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Draughn was born January 13, 1939 in Fentress Co., TN.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Draughn is survived by daughter, Brenda Creason of Jamestown; son, Steven Draughn and wife, Diedra of Mt. Helen; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Mills and wife, Pam of Mt. Helen, Roger Mills and wife, Joyce of Clarkrange, Jackie Mills and wife, Rhonda of Mt. Helen; and Jerry Mills of Knoxville; sisters, Joyce Draughn of Georgia, Juanell Whittenburg and husband, Milford of the Honey Creek Community, Juanita Mills of Allardt; and sister-in-law, Shirley Reed.

Mrs. Draughn was preceded in death by husband, Lawrence W. Draughn; father, Robert Mills; mother, Sarah (Peters) Mills; sons, Tony Draughn and Timmy Draughn; daughter, Barbara Draughn; son-in-law, Kenith Creason, Jr.; brothers, Frankie Mills and Ronald Mills; and sister, Lois Lawton.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammie Dunford officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Helen Cemetery. Pallbearers included Dustin Mera, Shawn Hankes, David Brown, Lucas Mills, Matt Mills, Kaleb Turner, Andy Mills, and Dylan Creason.

Charles Glen Jones, age 78, of Westmoreland, TN passed away May 12, 2015.

Mr. Jones was a retired business representative of the United Union of Roofers, Water Proofers and Allied Workers, Local #205 in Chesterfield, Indiana.

He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Sharp, Westmoreland, TN; grand- daughter, Ashley and (Todd) Massingale, Lafayette, TN; grandson, Wyatt Glen Sharp, Westmoreland, TN; brothers, Carlos, Merle, Doyle, Robert, David, Darrell, Rodney, and Jerry Jones; sister, Barbra Shelton; as well as Susan Poulson, Catherine Del Vecchio, Thomas and Michael Bray.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Ruby Jones; brothers, Roger, Shelly and Alford Jones.

Memorial services were conducted May 15, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Woodard Funeral Home with Bro. David Spears officiating.

Jacqueline Smith McDonald Love, age 86, of Byrdstown, TN passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 Livingston Regional Hospital.

Mrs. McDonald was born October 7, 1928 in Fentress County, TN. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She was a “family lady”, and loved to cook, work in her yard, and travel.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by sons, Roger and Eva McDonald of Byrdstown, Greg and Susan McDonald of Livingston, and Bill and Toni McDonald of Romeo, MI; step-sons, Dennis and Martha Love of California, Virgil and Minnie Love of MI and Robert Love of MI; step-daughter, Darlene French of Mi; special cousin, Maureen Wright of Jamestown, TN; grandchildren, Bill and Kara McDonald, Andrew and Chelsea McDonald, Jonathan McDonald, Kristalynn McDonald, Eric and Trisha McDonald, Eric and Nikki Birch, Ethan McDonald and Emma McDonald; several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by parents, Lonzie and Lena Cooper Smith; husbands, William Floyd McDonald and Virgil Love; brothers, Elmo, Hansel, and Glenn Smith; sisters, Orba Mullinix and Vera Brown.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 21, 2015, 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston, with Rev. Roger McDonald officiating. Burial followed in McDonald Family Cemetery in Alpine on “Ivyton Stretch”. Nancy McCloud

Nancy McCloud, age 28, of Lancing, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Roane Medical Center.

Mrs. McCloud was born May 27, 1986. She was a box packer.

Mrs. McCloud is survived by son Ethan Shawn McCloud of Crossville; daughters, Victoria Angel McCloud of Crossville, Navaeh Mae McCloud of Crossville, and Rhianna Rose McCloud of Crossville; sister, Katrina Smith and husband, Douglas of Crossville; brothers, Michael Merkosky of Cleveland, OH and Jayson England of Crossville.

Mrs. McCloud was preceded in death by husband, Roy Richard McCloud and mother, Francis Ann Harrison.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Acres officiating. Burial followed in the Livingston Cemetery. Ruby C. Polson

Ruby C. Polson, age 89, of Galion, OH, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Polson is survived by son, Edward (Mike) Polson; daughters, Jayne Moore, and Ruth Bowman and husband Clay; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Polson was preceded in death by husband, Winford Polson; sons, James Lee Polson and Jeff Robinson; parents, Estill and Litha Abrams Fife; brothers, Jim, Clarence and Talmadge Fife; sisters, Violet Umfleet, Wilma Jean Spurlock, Sarah Kindler and Mary Williams.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mundy Funeral Home South Chapel with Bro. Lonnie Cook officiating. Burial followed in the Spring Chapel Cemetery.

Treva Evelyn Wilson, 87, of Concord passed away Sunday May 10, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service was held  Saturday May 16 at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Born September 16, 1927, in Clarkrange, Fentress County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Jackson Atkinson and the late Druzilla Armintie Key Atkinson.   She was the 8th child in a family of 9 children.  She graduated from Clarkrange High School in 1944.   In 1955 she received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree and began work at Cumberland Medical Center and worked there for 4 years.  When her family moved to Wilmington, NC she was employed in Labor & Delivery at Cape Fear Memorial for 5 years.  The family moved to Concord in 1964 and she began work in Labor & Delivery at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for the next 25 years until her retirement.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Q. E. Wilson.

Survivors include son Trenton Edwin Wilson, and wife Anne Hege Wilson; grandchildren Jeffrey Christopher Wilson and wife, Jennifer of Concord; Heather Anne Wilson-Bowlby and husband, Jon of Albemarle; step-great granddaughter Autumn Grace Bowlby of Denton.

Holtsclaw, Keith Smith, Alyssa Holland, Zachary Smith, Lee Smith and Cheryl Tamayo; seven great-grandchildren, Avery Michelle Wright, Kinsey Smith, Harper Smith, Orson Smith, Lucy Tamayo,  Liam Smith and Baby Wright; brother, Bill Wright; sisters, Frances Hurd of Jamestown, and Helen Orbzut of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, caregivers, other family and friends.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by wife, Diana Jane (Hall) Wright; father, Homer Russ Wright; mother, Pansy Ellen (Smith) Wright; sister Ella Jean Wright Delk; brothers, Homer K. Wright, Odis Smith, and Willis Huston Smith.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 12:00 p.m in Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Hicks officiating. Burial followed in the Gunter Cemetery. Pallbearers included Joshua Donald Wright, Terry C. Woodcock, Stephen M. Holtsclaw, Steve Delk, Matt Owenby, and G. Dan Smith. Honorary pallbearers included Bill Wright, Tasha Delk, and Johnny Wright.
