Julie Brown

Julie Brown, age 58, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Brown was born November 28, 1955 in Muncie, Indiana. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her mother, Eunice Holding of Jamestown; son, Peter Craig Rodriguez and wife Karen of Jamestown; grandchildren ,Ashley, Craig and Zachary; great-grandchild, Bentley; brother, Jeff Holding of Indiana; sisters, Janet Whybrew of Illinois and Joan Salyer and husband Gene of  Indiana; father of her children, Lee Brown; special friend, Julie Hudson of Jamestown and a host of neices, nephews, and other family and friends.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Holding.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Potter’s Chapel Church in Lancing, TN with Bishop Charles Dungan officating. Burial followed in the Old Potter’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers included: Lee Brown, Derrick Ledbetter, Karen Rodriguez, Larry Joe Brown, Jonathon Crabtree,Allen Crabtree, Jerry Guffey and Kyle Clark.

Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.

Royal JonesRoyal Reece Jones

Royal Reece Jones, 81, of Ormond Beach, Florida died June 7, 2014 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Florida.

Born December 29, 1932 in Armathwaite, Tennessee, to Roy L. Jones and Stella Marie (Terry) Jones, Royal grew up with his parents and nine siblings in Fentress County Tennessee. He attended Alvin C. York High School before serving in the US Army in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. June 24, 1955 Royal married his high school sweetheart, Joyce King in Muncie, Indiana. They lived happily together for 55 years, raising three children in Ohio, Alabama, and Florida.

Royal’s life revolved around the love of and dedication to his large family, his career as an entrepreneur, inventor, and innovator, and an unending generosity toward others. His work in the rendering industry allowed him extensive travels across America and to various international locations, including Russia, Central America and China. His life as a business owner was a source of much enjoyment for him. He continued actively working throughout his life. A most generous person, Royal was always concerned about those around him, whether family members or acquaintances. After hurricane Mitch devastated Honduras in 1998, he and Joyce spearheaded a large relief effort to aid those affected. Royal’s life touched many people.

Royal is survived by; his three children, Natalie Jones White (Darrell), Sylvia Marie Jones, and Timothy Royal Jones (Tisha); grandchildren, Monica Winegarden (Andy), Amy Powers, Nickolas Powers, Dustin White (Keri), Logan White, Miranda Jones, Rachel Jones, Anna Jones, and Christina Jones; and a great-grandchild, Malia McNally. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Reagan, Roger Jones, Fred Jones, and Darlene Gentry.

He was predeceased by; his wife, Joyce King Jones, and his siblings, Ralph Jones, Wanda Jones, Reed Jones, Rudy Jones, and Ronnie Jones.

Visitation and viewing were held on Friday, June 13th from 6-8 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Saturday June 14th at Christ Presbyterian Church, 1035 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach, there was a viewing from 10-10:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Royal’s memory to Fun Coast Down Syndrome Association 3601 East Moody Blvd. Bunnell, Florida 32110,

VENA Maude Kemmer

Vena Maude Kemmer, age 89, of Crossville, TN, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014.

Mrs. Kemmer was born November 5, 1924 in Fentress County, Tennessee. She was a retired supervisor at Roselon Southern and was also a member of Homestead United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kemmer is survived by her daughters, Barbara Jane Poland and husband Sonny of Crossville, TN, Brenda Kaye Pennington and husband Paul also of Crossville, TN, grandchildren Salissa Carver and husband Jeremy, Christopher Poland, Kemmerlee Penningson, John Paul Davis Penningson, great-grandchildren Kelsey and Kaylee Carver. She also leaves a very loving and caring group of caregivers who the family greatly appreciates, Barbie Brown, Ruth Holman, Sandy Markee, Jan Dunbar, Cathy Jones, Jennifer O’Neal and Constance Spieles.

Mrs. Kemmer was preceded in death by her father Bart Jones, mother Dosha Stockton Jones, husband David S. Kemmer, brothers Ervin Jones, Bart Jones Jr., sisters Dorothy Wheaton, Gladys York, Bernice Norman and Beryle Shadowens.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Homestead United Methodist Church with Rev. Monica Mowdy, Jon Goodwin, Christopher Poland and Jeremy Carver officiating. Burial  followed in the Grassy Cove Cemetery. Serving as active and honorary pallbearers were- John Paul Pennington, Christopher Poland, Scott Lansford, Mike Jones, William Boalick, Reggie Rowell, Jimmy Kemmer, Roger York, Bobby Randolph, John York, Gaines Lansford, Jim Kemmer, Danny Kemmer, Hank Kemmer, Pit Kemmer and Randy York.

Hood Funeral and Crematory of Crossville, Tennessee was in charge of services.

Gage Watson, age 3 of Jamestown, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 in the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Gage is survived by his parents, Heather Watson and Keith and Teresa Copeland; sisters, Madison Watson and Brooke Copeland; brother, Jordan Copeland; grandparents, Richard and Belinda Winningham and Kenneth and Audrey Copeland and Tony and Brenda Hamby; great-grandmother, Barbara Watson; special cousin, Debbie Bridges; best friend, Bryson Harris; other survivors include several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gage was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Duffield Watson and Ray and Velma Pyle; great-great-grandparents, John and Iva Watson and Raymond and Alma Crabtree.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy’s Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Smith and Bro. Bradley Bowden officiating. Burial followed in the Terry Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Keith Copeland, Rod Moon, Stacy Stephens and Ronnie Stockton. Honorary pallbearers included Richard Winningham, Jordan Copeland, Brooke Copeland, Anthony Andersyn, Ayden Moon, Holden and Houston Phillips, Hallie Young and Wheeler, Bailey and Lexi Brewer.

Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.
