Donald “Donnie” Joe Clark, age 61, of Banner Springs, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Clark was born January 23, 1954 in Monterey, TN. He was a dry wall worker.

Mr. Clark is survived by sons, Gabriel Clark and Shane Clark; daughters, Ashley McDonald, Josie Clark and Brittnay Clark; eight grandchildren; and brothers, Marvin Clark and George Clark and wife, Sue.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by father, Charlie Oren Clark; and mother, Norma Jean (Harvey) Durham.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Jennings Funeral Homes- Clarkrange Chapel with Bishop Charles Dungan and Phil Laws officiating.Military Service was held at graveside in the Jonesville Cemetery in Fentress County, TN. Pallbearers included Marvin Clark, George Clark, Shane Clark, Red Ashburn, Lester Clark and Mark Wadell.

Jennings Funeral Home-of Clarkrange, Tennessee was in charge of services.

Helen Conatser, age 90, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Signature Health Care in Jamestown.

Mrs. Conatser is survived by sons, Noble Conatser and Robert Conatser; daughter, Phyllis Smith and husband, Harold; sisters, Lorine Stilts and Virgie Copeland; nine grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Conatser was preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Laura Winningham Conatser; sons, Melvin Conatser and Eugene Conatser; two grandchildren and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:00  a.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Eugene Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Livingston Cemetery. Pallbearers included Shawn Maynard, Eugene Conatser, McKeal Conatser, Harold Smith, Doug Conatser and Paul Conatser.

Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.

John “Woody” Gearheart

John “Woody” Gearheart,  a Lake Tansi resident since 1990, passed away at age 88.

Mr. Gearheart was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Morehead, KY. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and made a career and retired from Commercial Plumbing. All who knew him recognized his love for golf, fishing, and the sports world in general. “Woody” never missed a chance to watch and root for the KY Wildcats.

Mr. Gearheart was married to the former Ollie Crouch Gearheart of Forbus, TN. Ollie, Woody and their two surviving children, son, Larry V. Gearheart of Pioche NV, and daughter, Diane Gearheart of Austin, TX, lived in Gaston, IN before moving to Lake Tansi in 1990. Other survivors include brother, Donald Gearheart of Phoenix, AZ; sister, June Gearheart of Mesquite, TX. A host of loving friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Gearheart was preceded in death by parents, John and Ruby (DeBoard) Gearheart; sisters, Ada Casey, Gladys Berger, and Addie Barndale; brothers, Norm Cowan, Allen Tucker, Melbourne, Coleman and James.

There will be a visitation on January 31, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Hank Jones of Crossville officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or The American Heart Association.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of Crossville, Tennessee are in charge of arrangements.

Betty Williams Rose, age 85 of Cookeville, TN, passed away  Sunday evening January 18, 2015 at the Hillview Nursing Home in Columbia.   

Mrs. Rose was born February 25, 1929 in Somerset, KY, the daughter of the late Guy Williams and Gladys Littrell Williams.

She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in May 1951 with a degree in Home Economics and immediately began working as the Home Demonstration Agent in Smith County.  On August 22, 1954 she married Jerry Lancaster Rose of Smith County and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005.  From 1955 to 1960 she taught Home Economics at Gordonsville High School.  Mrs. Rose devoted her life to raising her four children, providing them with the best education possible and supporting her husband in his work as President of the Cookeville Production Credit Association.

Mrs. Rose is survived by four children;  Cindy Rose Dowell (Steve) of Carthage, Dr. Jerry Lancaster Rose, Jr. (Kari) of Columbia, TN,  Rhedona Rose of Columbia, TN, and John Williams Rose (Chelsea) who owns the family Century Farm located near Temperance Hall, TN in DeKalb Co.  Mrs. Rose has four grandchildren;  Lori Rose Dowell (Omar), New Orleans, LA, Stanley Greg Dowell, Washington, DC, Joseph Lancaster Rose, Starkville, MS and Ella Kate Rose, Columbia, TN; three sisters,  Mary Williams Bowden (Shelley), Jamestown, TN, Margaret Williams Tipton (Winston), Muncie, IN and Jonelda Williams Blalock (Sid), Knoxville, TN, and  sisters-in-law Frances Rose Driver, New Middleton, TN and Carlene Williams, Jamestown, TN.

Four siblings predeceased Mrs. Rose.  They were; Joyce Williams Johnson (Melvin), Livingston,  Mildred Williams Pyle (Del), Sam Williams (Lou Nell) and Jerry Williams (Carlene) all of Jamestown, TN.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Rose were held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes. Interment followed in the Gordonsville Cemetery.

Roselle Smith, age 87, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was born May 21, 1927 in Fentress Co. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Smith is survived daughters, Barbara Robbins Boatman and husband, David of Monterey, TN and Carol Hunt and husband, Dale of Jamestown; step-daughters, Zola Rector of Upland, IN and Doris Shockley of Florida; eight grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Doris Gooding of Jamestown, Shirley Durham, of Jamestown, and Vina Reagan and husband Owen, of Muncie, IN.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Oscar Smith; son, Charles Smith; granddaughter, Caroline Susan Cook; father, Tom Price; mother, Arva Jane (Manis) Price; sons-in-law, George Robbins and Delmer Cook; sisters, Bessie Smith and Dessie Price; and brothers, Granville, Ernest, Walter and J.C. Price.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Smith, Bro. Johnny Smith and Bro. Bruce Cravens officiating. Burial followed in the Price Family Cemetery in Jamestown. Pallbearers included Dwayne Smith, Phillip Cook, Daniel Robbins, James Smith, Bryant Haley, Dale Cook, Bobby Cook, Steven Cook, Nathan Pratt and David Robbins.

Lorine Stilts, age 86, of Jamestown,TN, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Stilts was born April 16, 1928 in Fentress County, TN. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stilts is survived by daughters, Susie Kennedy of Jamestown, Pauline Bell of Indianapolis, IN, Joyce Newlin of Florida, Teresa Gang of Atlanta, GA and Norma Swails of Jamestown; sons, Kenny Stilts of Jamestown and Harold Stilts of Clarksville, TN; numerous grandkids, great-grandkids great-great-grandkids; and sister, Vergie Copeland of Jamestown, TN.

Mrs. Stilts was preceded in death by husband, Horace Stilts; father, Andrew Conatser; mother, Laura (Winningham) Conatser; daughter, Willadean Stilts; sons, Carl Stilts and Earl Stilts; and nine brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eugene Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Stilts Cemetery in Jamestown, TN. Pallbearers included Aaron Nickens, Andrew Stilts, Kirby Kennedy, Dale Crawford, Mike Gang, Noble Conatser, and Robert Conatser.
