GREGORY P. ATCHLEY

Gregory P. Atchley, age 50, of Allons, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Overton County Nursing Home.

Mr. Atchley was born September 9, 1963 in Livingston, Tennessee.  He was a member of Allons Church of Christ.

Mr. Atchley is survived by parents, Paul and Faye Atchley; wife, Carlotta Atchley; daughter, Carleigh Brooke Atchley of Allons; brother, Kent Atchley of Allons; sister, Rhonda  Gooding of Monterey; and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Barbara Stephens of Jamestown.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd officiating.  Burial followed in Fentress Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, Tennessee.  Active pallbearers included Donald Fleming, Allen Baltimore, Roger Brady, Randy Kidd, Ron Allison, Jerry Shaw, Bud Street, Donnie Hibbs, Lynn Burnett and Rick Reeder.  REI employees and Hot Biscuits Singing Group served as honorary pallbearers.

Hall Funeral Home, LLC of Livingston, Tennessee was in charge of services.

 

Tookie Copley

HOBERT “TOOKIE” COPLEY

Hobert “Tookie” Copley, age 74, of Jamestown, passed away  Friday, January 10, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Copley was born October 20, 1939 in Fentress County, Tennessee.  He was a farmer.

Mr. Copley is survived by wife, Charlene (Cooper) Copley of Jamestown; son, Cecil Copley and wife Lora of Jamestown; two daughters, Dorothy Barnes of Crossville and Susan Copley of Jamestown; five grandchildren;  eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don Copley of Jamestown and O’Neal Copley of North Carolina.

Mr. Copley was preceded in death by father, Allen Copley; mother, Delia (Wright) Copley; and four brothers, Arvil Copley, Omer Copley, Clayton Copley and Paul Copley.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Smith and Bro. Oscar England officiating.  Burial followed in the Potter Cemetery.  Active pallbearers included Tanner Copley, Chase Copley, Don Ledbetter, Eric Ledbetter, Jimmy Johnson, Stacy Cooper, Ryan Reed and Greg Choate.  Honorary pallbearers included J.L. Upchurch, Floyd Cook, Sam Crooks, Don Conatser, Junior Cooper, Jimmy Dale Cooper, Gene Weaver, Johnny Cook, Warren Duggan, Cameron Pendergrass and John Garrett.

C.J. DEESE

C.J. Deese, age 77, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Deese was born August 27, 1936 in LaBelle, Florida.  He was a Engineer-State of Florida.

Mr. Deese is survived by two sons, James Deese and wife Shirley of Jamestown and Jeff Yastine and wife Joan of Florida; two daughters, Becky Bates of Florida and Joann McCracken and husband Gary of Texas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Deese was preceded in death by wife, Sally A. (Bucher) Deese; father, Cecil Deese; mother, Letha (Ballard) Deese; daughter, Debra Jean Deese; brother, Wilbur Deese; and sister, Betty Lyons.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Reagan officiating.  Burial followed in the Andy Smith Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Steve Deese, Jasper Deese, Jesse Deese, James Deese, Jeff Yastine and Cody Kenworthy.

Janet W. Goad, age 66, of the Mt. Helen Community, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Miss Goad was born April 21, 1947 in Scott County, Tennessee.  She was a RN.

Miss Goad is survived by mother, Pansy (Bridges) Goad of the Mt. Helen Community; two sisters, Janie Potter of Cookeville and Cathy Brooks of the Mt. Helen Community; three brothers, Glen Goad and wife Ann of the Armathwaite Community, Marty Goad and wife Billie and Tim Goad and wife Joyce both of the Mt. Helen Community; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Miss Goad was preceded in death by father, Claud Verden Goad; grandparents, Luster and Willie (Cole) Goad and Sylvester and Dessie (Bridges) Jones; niece, Andrea Gail Potter; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Helen Baptist Church with Bro. Brady Goad officiating.  Burial followed in the Mt. Helen Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Bryan Potter, Tyler Goad, Gabriel Goad, Josh Goad, Travis Goad, Tony Carter, Brad Menser, David Jones and Randy Jones.

Christopher Mark Turner, age 41, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Mr. Turner was born September 18, 1972 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a construction worker.

Mr. Turner is survived by wife, Regina (Ramsey) Turner of Jamestown; mother, Shirley Patricia (Ashley) Duncan of Jamestown; two daughters, Kara Jo Turner and Angel Nicole Turner both of Jamestown; and two brothers, Billy Joe Turner, II and Gabriel Wendell Duncan both of Jamestown.

Mr. Tuner was preceded in death by father, Billy Joe Turner; and two grandchildren, Landyn Scroggins and Christopher Grayson David Scroggins.

A graveside service was held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Livingston Cemetery with Bro. Lambeth Woodward officiating.  Burial followed.

Vauda Mae Wilson, age 77, of the Hanging Limb Community, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wilson was born November 1, 1936 in Monterey, Tennessee.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by son, Danny Wilson; daughter, Donna Jones; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mert Jones, Caroline Moser and Brenda Jones.

Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Baxter Wilson; daughter, Debbie Flesher; one grandchild; father, William “Bill” Jones; mother, Lassie (Ledbetter) Jones; sister, Paulette Holmberg; and three brothers, Herbert Jones, Kendle Jones and Buck Jones.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clarkrange Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Patton officiating.  Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Isaha York, Ethan Hawks, Wyatt Hawks, Rusty Jones, Lee Foley, Mickey Stephens, Eric Roysden and Robby Johnson.
