Mary Frances Bowden, age 83, of Allardt, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Signature Health Care of Fentress County.

Mrs. Bowden was born February 15, 1931 in Somerset, KY. She was a secretary in the school system.

Mrs. Bowden is survived by daughters, Patricia Sue Head and husband, James of New Albany, IN and Teresa Ann Bowden of New Albany, IN; sons, Joe Marion Bowden of Jamestown, and James Dwight Bowden and wife, Janie of Huntsville, TN; grandchildren, Trent, Shelly Rhae, Brian, Jennifer and Jaime; sisters, Margaret Tipton and husband, Winston of Muncie, IN and Jo Blalock and husband, Sid of Knoxville, TN.

Mrs. Bowden was preceded in death by husband, Marion Shelley Bowden; father, Guy Williams; mother, Gladys (Littrell) Williams, sisters, Mildred Pyle, Betty Rose and Joyce Johnson, brothers, Sammie J. Williams and Jerry Williams.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.  in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Allred officiating. Burial was Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  in Fentress Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers included Brian Head, Trent Bowden, Ryan Yantz, Keith Thomas, Eric Crabtree, Gregory Crabtree, Rod Williams, and Gavin Williams. Honorary pallbearers included Wallace York, Tim Smith, Kirby Littrell, and Ray Williams.

Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of the services.

Cole, Elma obitElma Cole

Elma Cole, age 97, of Allardt, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Signature Health Care in Jamestown.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to Dr. Dilip Joshi and the staff of Signature Health Care.

Mrs. Cole was born June 2, 1917 in Mt. Helen, Tennessee. She was a member of the Mt. Helen Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cole is survived by two daughters, Patsy Sullivan and husband, Charles of Virginia, and Peggy Guthrie and husband, Larry of Allardt; five granddaughters, Melissa Collier and husband, Rick, Jamie Lattanzi and husband, Lou, Heather Croy and husband, David, Cathlin Norris and husband, Andy, Colleen Sullivan and husband, Ed Petkus; nine great-grandchildren, Rebekka and Kathrine Collier, Cory Collier and wife, Amanda, Guthrie and Cole Lattanzi, Kelin and Jonas Petkus, Adam and Spencer Norris; two great-great-grandsons, Kaline and Ty Collier; sister, Veta Tompkins and husband, L.D.; brother, Obert Ellis and wife, Lela; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Cole; parents, Virgil and Etta Ellis; four sisters, Reba and Neva Ellis, Ola Tompkins and Lona Sewell.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Helen Baptist Church with Bro. Marcus Williams and Bro. Brady Goad officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Helen Cemetery. Pallbearers included Cory Collier, Guthrie Lattanzi, Cole Lattanzi, Ritchie Tompkins, Paul Ellis and Stephen Ellis.

Collier Crockett

Collier Crockett, age 87, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Crockett is survived by son, Rick Crockett and wife, Faye; daughter, Debra Harrison; four grandchildren, Greg Harrison and wife, Kara, Chris Bubba Harrison and wife, Pam, Connie Jones and husband, Jessie and Jeff Crockett; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by wife, Willene Roysden Crockett; parents, Pete and Victoria Anderson Crockett; brothers, Bates, Sheard, Gibb and Chuck Crockett; sister, Gladys Crockett Blankenship and granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn.

Funeral services were held Tuesday February 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home  with Bro. John Robbins officiating. Burial followed in the Crockett Cemetery. Pallbearers included Greg Harrison, Chris Bubba Harrison, Jeff Crockett, Harold Crockett, Kirby Crockett, and Donald Roysden.

Robert Elmore, age 82, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 in Crossville, TN.

Mr. Elmore is survived by granddaughter, Rebecca McCausland; great-granddaughter, Kaydi McCausland; brother, Lloyd Elmore; sisters, Maggie Harris and Edith Guffey.

Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by wife, Gertrude Elmore; daughter, Beverly Brown; son-in-law, Junior Brown; parents, Sam and Goldie Brown Elmore and seven brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home  with Bro. Bob Zavattieri and Bro. Jim Strunk officiating. Burial followed in the Fentress Memorial Gardens. Pall bearers included Bill Bowden, Lonnie Cravens, Guylan Choate, Brad Wakefield, Timothy Lynch, Taylor Morris, and Michael Watson.

James Fravel

James Fravel, age 81, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Fravel is survived by sons, Robert Fravel and wife, Debra, Samuel Howard Fravel, Douglas Vernon Fravel and Steven Wayne Fravel and wife, Eula; daughter, Katherin Altie Dinterman and husband, Harry; fifteen grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Fravel was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Fravel and son, James Fravel III.

Memorial service was held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Jamestown First Baptist Church with Bro. David Acres officiating.

Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of the cremation and the family was in charge of the memorial service.

Richmond, Steve358Steve Richmond

Steve Richmond, age 70, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, February, 11, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Richmond was born May 19, 1944 in Mr. Carmel, IL. He worked in retail sales. Mr. Richmond  was a horse person and an animal lover.

Mr. Richmond is survived by wife, Stephanie (Arnold) Richmond of Jamestown; daughter, Jeane Richmond of Connecticut; and grandchild, Jamie Petterson.

Mr. Richmond was preceded in death by father, Asher Richmond and mother, Mazie Jo (Forrester) Richmond.

The family has chosen Cremation and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Audrey Beaty obitAudrey Sharon (Stowers) Beaty

Audrey Sharon (Stowers) Beaty made her home in Sevierville, TN where she worked in sales. She was born in Jamestown, TN on Sept. 26, 1953. She grew up in Muncie, IN. She passed away Jan. 22, 2015 at her home in Sevierville. She was one of four children born to the late Louie  Earlene Stowers of Muncie, IN.

She is survived by her father, Lillard Edmond Stowers, who makes his home in Meister Hills, TN. Also one daughter, Stephanie Renee Burkett who resides in Chandler, Arizona; grandchildren, Tyler Short, Audrey Short, Owen Short, Levi Burkett, and Natali Burkett; also long time companion, Dennis Follis, and very good friend Richard Miller until she passed; brothers, the late Roger Dale Stowers, Tony Lorn Stowers of Rockville, MD, and Stanley Farron Stowers of Lavonia, GA; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.

She donated her body to science. She had a 2 year battle with cancer. There will be a memorial at a later date.
