Margaret E. Beaty

Margaret E. Beaty, age 91, of Palm Harbor, FL, passed away December 21, 2014 at Country Side Haven in Florida.

Mrs. Beaty was born June 12, 1923 in Monette, AR. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Beaty is survived by son, Joseph Ferrari and wife, Marilyn; grandsons, Paul Johnson and Little Joe; granddaughter, Deborah Riska and husband, Lance; one step-great granddaughter; one great grandchild; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Beaty was preceded in death by husband, Jess Willard Beaty; father, Henry Louis Davidson; mother, Arney (Childers) Davidson;  seven sisters, Lillian Luff, Eula Fay Davidson, Ivaleen Davidson, Dona McClelland, Maggie Sue Davidson, Doris Lapham, and Mary Louis Beyer;  and three brothers, Morris Avis Davidson, Henry Lloyd Davidson and Cecil Delbert Davidson.

Graveside service was held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Beaty Swamp Cemetery with Bro. David Acres officiating. Burial followed in Beaty Swamp Cemetery in Monroe, TN.

Cannon WilliamWilliam Henry Cannon

William Henry Cannon, 67, of Panama City, passed away at Bay Medical Center on Dec 21, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

After graduation from high school he joined and proudly served the United States in the US Army.  William was a hard working family man.  He ran heavy equipment and worked in logging.

He rejoices with those gone before him, his parents, Henry and Lillian Cannon and his son, Faron Cannon.

He is survived and missed by his wife of 47 years, Betty Jane Cannon of Panama City; his daughter and her family, Rose and husband William Rinehart and their 3 children, Misty, Cody and Mariah, all of Clarkrange, TN; his son William L Cannon and his children Nakoda, Hayden, with step children, Kayla Niguet, Amber Kay, Matthew Lisenby, Brandon Lisenby, Maddison Pippin.  He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Calvin & Mary with their two kids, Elysha Schutte and Austin Cannon. He is additionally survived by Ceila Tucker and Hank Cannon, Son and daughter of Calvin Cannon and Patricia Starling.

William touched the lives of many as he was a loving husband, father, brother, friend and Grandpa.

Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec 27, 2014, 12:00 noon (11:00 AM visitation) at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services with Pastor Glenn Webber officiating.  Mr. Cannon was laid to rest at the Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help offset the cost of the funeral expenses.

Steve Crabtree, age 60, of Allardt, passed away December 21, 2014 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Crabtree was born April 21, 1954 in Fentress Co. He was a farmer.

Mr. Crabtree is survived by wife, Sue (Stinson) Crabtree; daughters, Leisha Beaty and Stephanie Crabtree; three grandchildren; brother, Darrell Crabtree and wife Cassie; three sisters, Deborah Bridges and husband, Paul, Denise York and Hope Crabtree.

Mr. Crabtree was preceded in death by father, Sherman Cletis Crabtree; mother, Clara Louise (Watson) Crabtree; sister, Tammy Crabtree; and two brothers, Jimmy Crabtree and Micheal Crabtree.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Porter Ray Pennycuff officiating. Burial followed in Terry Cemetery in Jamestown, TN. Pallbearers included Amos Crabtree, Paul Crabtree, Dan Crabtree, Greg Crabtree, Keith Copeland, Paul Bridges and James Crabtree.

Nancy Lois Gass

Nancy Lois Gass, age 67, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away December 25, 2014. Mrs. Gass was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a former longtime member of Donelsonview Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gass, along with her husband, Danny, were the owners of Gass’ Grocery and Restaurant. Mrs. Gass was the daughter of the late, Orden and Lois Reagan Holt.

Mrs. Gass is survived by sons, Michael Gass and Tony Gass; daughter, Patty Welch; sister, Patty Robertson; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews

Mrs. Gass was  preceded in death by her husband, Danny R. Gass and siblings, Betty Ann Holt, Shirley Harris, Linda Nelms and George Holt.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Matthew Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers were Brandon Gass, James Tucker, Chase Howland, Todd Hill, Ken Chrisman, and Jack Pratt, Jr.

Noble F. Hinds

Noble F. Hinds went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2014. He is joining his son, Chris Hinds.

Mr. Hinds was born on April 29, 1926 to the late Ezra and Della Penticuff Hinds in Little Crab, TN (Fentress, County).

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; son, Todd (Jackie) Hinds; brothers, Bob (Flossie) Hinds, Carson Hinds, Harlie (Lois) Hinds, Bill (Karen) Hinds and Ted (Bev) Hinds; sister, June (Ron) Fields; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Gracie Hinds, Acie Hinds, Bessie Patton, Luella Justis and Sylvia Simcox.

Funeral services for Noble F. Hinds, age 88, of Cookeville will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December, 31, 2014, at Presley Funeral Home in Cookeville, TN.  Interment will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens, Crossville, TN.

Mr. Hinds served in the US Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (Tennessee Tech) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1957.

Mr. Hinds took great pride in working in the aerospace industry for both NASA and Lockheed. He worked at Cape Canaveral from 1959 until his retirement in 1994. He participated in the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, and Shuttle programs.

Mr. Hinds was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mims, FL. He was appointed a Deacon 1961.

Nada Lynn Smith PicNada Lynn Smith Lee

Nada Lynn Smith Lee, age 55, of Belton, Texas passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Ms. Lee was born September 20, 1959 in Monahans, Texas. She was retired, and was a  longtime member of West Fentress Baptist Church.

Ms. Lee is survived by father and mother, Frank and Faye Smith of Jamestown; one daughter, Paris Williams and husband, Ronnie; three grandchildren all from Dickinson, Texas; two brothers, Gary (Chucky) Smith and wife, Becky, and Eddy Lee Smith and wife, Mandy of Jamestown; two sisters, Tammie Franklin and husband Jim, of Muncie, IN and Misty Linder and husband, Nathaniel of Jamestown, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ms. Lee was preceded in death by husband Jeffery Lee of Monroe, TN; maternal grandparents, Henry D. Williams and Nadine (North) Williams; and paternal grandparents, Edd and Katherine (Beaty) Smith.

Celebration of Life services will be held at Jennings Funeral Home with Ronald Whited officiating on January 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. We will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until services. Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery.

Roy Sillman was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, June 26, 1937. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University (1959) with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Roy held various positions in engineering and management in the steel industry and operated his own executive recruiting firm. He moved to East Tennessee in 1967 and has been involved in various horse related activities for over 25 years. Activities included operating a boarding barn, breeding Arabian horses and competitive trail riding. Roy became a full-time Spruce Creek resident in 2002. He is survived by daughters, Laura Hackworth and Lisa Sillman Windland.

The family chose cremation. Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.

Betty Stone picBetty J. Stone

Betty J. Stone, age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Pearland, Texas surrounded by her loving family on December 25, 2014.

Mrs. Stone was born on July 26, 1928 in Wilder, Tennessee. Her parents were the late James Osco and Alpha (Lee) Cravens. Also preceding her in death were her first husband, James Paris Noland, and their infant daughter, Jill Robin; her second husband, Shirley Jackson; her third husband, Harry Eugene Stone; sisters, Ruby Cross and Evelyn Smith; and brothers, Bill Cravens and Warren Cravens.

Mrs. Stone is survived by her daughter, Janice Noland Clark; son, Greg Noland, and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Nicole Clark, Robert Clark, Matt Noland and Cloe Noland; great granddaughter, Ava Clark; sisters, Dean Elmore and Madeline Taylor; brother, J.O. Cravens; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stone enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the garden, listening to country music and caring for the family dog, Zoe. Interment will be in Tell City, Indiana, where Betty lived much of her life.

Cindy J. Wright, age 49, of Jamestown, passed away December 24, 2014 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Wright was born March 11, 1965 in Jamestown. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wright is survived by husband, Steve Wright; son, David Wayne Asberry and wife, Katrina Leigh of Fort Benning, GA; daughter, Leeann Marie Asberry ; three grandchildren; sister, Nellie Whited; and brother, Billy Pullins and wife Bobbie Jo all of Jamestown.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by father, Walter Elmer Pullins; mother, Rosie Maxine Pullins; two sisters, Emily Crockett and Wilma Beaty; three brothers, Willie Pullins, James Edgar Pullins and William Kelly Pullins and two infant siblings.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Crockett Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jason Koger, David Wayne Asberry, Shelly Crockett, Michael Burtrum, Douglas Pullins, Edward Rains, Keith Wright, and Tony Rains.
