MARY RUTH BRAGA

Mary Ruth Braga, 78, passed away Easter, April 20, 2014 in New Castle, Indiana.

Mrs. Braga was born in Fentress County close to Jamestown, Tennessee on April 26, 1935. She moved to New Castle, IN when she was 16 and remained there until her death. She had a passion for life and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was always planting flowers and growing vegetables in her garden. Her favorite thing to do was going to garage sales and estate sales looking for treasures. She and her husband started their own antique business in 1967 and continued buying and selling until recently. People were always dropping by to have dinner, share stories, and play cards or just ‘hang out’. Ruth never met a stranger, took in any homeless cat or dog that found its way onto the property and was always willing to share her knowledge of antiques with anyone who asked.

Mrs. Braga is survived by her husband, Robert Braga; sisters,  Sue Denson and husband Richard, June Hicks and husband Denver; daughters, Jenita Davidson and husband Rodger, Susan Bozzo and husband Michael; son Mark Booher; grandchildren, Ryan Wayne, Lauren Biscamp and husband Michael and great-granddaughter Elizabeth, Rachel Strunk and husband Matt and great-grandson Luke, Tyler Ditton and wife Katie, and grandson, Samuel Booher; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Braga is preceded in death by her parents, Cullom and Edna Crockett; three brothers, Clay, Jim and Steve Crockett; son, Richard Booher; and nephew, Jeffrey Hall.

A memorial to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at a later date, to be announced, for close friends and family.
