Virginia Slater Deabler, age 84, passed away after a long illness.

Mrs. Deabler was born June 8, 1930 in New Britain, CT, to Dunlap and Mildred Slater.

Mrs. Deabler is survived by daughters, Susan Deabler of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Laurie and husband, William York of Grimsley, TN; son, Laurence and wife, Karen Deabler of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Milford and wife, Patty Loomis of Hardford, CT; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer, Brian, Kylene, Heather, Scott, and Brandon; ten beloved great-grandchildren, Ashlei, Whitney, Owen, Conner, Taylor, Makayla, Tyler, Madelyn, Gavin and Peyton Virginia.

Mrs. Deabler was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Laurence; parents Dunlap and Mildred Slater; sister and her husband, Barbara and Otto Wall; brother, Dunlap Hayward Slater; sister and brother-in-law, Gwendolyn and Milford Loomis; niece, Robin Loomis; and in-laws, Lawrence and Letha Deabler.

Virginia will be remembered for her infectious smile, love of friends and family, strong spirituality, and no patience for doctors. Her family is grateful to all their family, friends and caregivers both near and far who have been so caring, loving and supportive during Virginia’s long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Memorial services were conducted Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown with Bro. Ed Walker officiating

William Edward “Ed” Flowers, age 74, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Flowers is survived by wife, Faye Flowers; son, Stuart Flowers and wife, Tracy; granddaughters, Bethany and Emily Flowers; brother, Tom Flowers and wife, Lucille; sister, Minnie Hull and husband, Vernon Toots; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Flowers and Joann Ledbetter and husband, Bud; other survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by parents, William and Mandy Allred Flowers; brother, Charles Flowers; nieces, Patsy Hull and Tammy Strunk.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Duncan and Bro. John Robbins officiating. Burial followed in the Taylor Place Cemetery. Pallbearers included David Hull, Patrick Flowers, Billy Ledbetter, Anthony Copeland, Morgan Flowers, Tim Flowers, and Jared Copeland.

Mary Harper

Mary Harper, age 92, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Harper was born June 28, 1922 in Livingston co., MO. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Harper is survived by daughters, Jane Brainard and husband, James  of Jamestown and Dixie Hobbs of Fort Worth, TX; son, Roy Randal Harper of Parchman, MS; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by husband, Roy E. Harper; father, Fred Delbert Killian; mother, Ethel Hattie (Roney) Killian; infant daughter, Carol Harper; and grandson, William Shane Cullum.

The family has chosen Cremation with a Memorial Service to be held at a later date.

Norma Howard Harris, age 65, of Clarkrange, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Harris is survived by mother, Irene Howard; sons, Keith Smith, Roger Harris and Kevin Beaty; daughters, Tammy Ward and Ashley Durham; brothers, Jesse and Henry Howard; sisters, Judy Ann Boles, Geraldine Richards and Janice Boles; and eleven grandchildren.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by father, Freeman Howard; sisters, Ruby and Linda Howard; and grandson, Kevin Cole Beaty.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at the Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Reagan and Sister Martha Selby officiating. Burial followed in the Blair Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jerry Richards, Jeff Boles, Brandon Smith, Randy Boles, Roger Harris, and Daniel Boles.

Mrs. Hayes was born February 16, 1922 in Fentress Co., TN. She was a factory worker and a homemaker.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by sons, Perry Don Hayes and wife, Judy of Albany, IN and Danny Hayes of Jamestown; brothers, L.E. Clayborn of Jamestown and Chester Clayborn and wife, Rita of Crossville, TN; ten grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by husband, Shirley P. Hayes; father, Mack Allen Clayborn; mother, Lettie Mae (Adkins) Clayborn; daughter, Hessie Perry; infant son, Guy Hayes; sisters, Mary Pelaso, Francis O’Bryant and Bobbye Clayborn; brothers, J.B. Clayborn and James Allen Clayborn.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Gunter officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers included Eric Moon, Colton Jones, Nathan Fisher, Steve Richardson, P.D. Hayes, Richard Hayes, Scottie Brown, Mark Crabtree, Cletis Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree, Daniel Campbell, and Colton Hayden. Honrary pallbearers included L.E. Ronald Lynn Rush, age 61, of Grimsley, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Rush is survived by loving companion, Kathleen Bangert; sister, Terri Daunick; brothers, Richard Marvin Rush II and Guy Hicks.

Mr. Rush was preceded in death by parents, Richard Marvin and Dean Hicks Rush; and brother, Randy Rush.

The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Mr. Wright was born April 11, 1941 in Fentress Co. He was a factory worker.

Mr. Wright is survived by daughters, Tamara Wright Holtsclaw of Newport, TN, and Bobbie Smith of San Diego, CA; eight grandchildren, Joshua Donald Wright, Terry C. Woodcock, Stephen M. Holtsclaw, Keith Smith, Alyssa Holland, Zachary Smith, Lee Smith and Cheryl Tamayo; seven great-grandchildren, Avery Michelle Wright, Kinsey Smith, Harper Smith, Orson Smith, Lucy Tamayo,  Liam Smith and Baby Smith; brother, Bill Wright; sisters, Frances Hurd of Jamestown, and Helen Orbzut of San Diego, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, caregivers, other family and friends.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by wife, Diana Jane (Hall) Wright; father, Homer Russ Wright; mother, Pansy Ellen (Smith) Wright; sister Ella Jean Wright Delk; brothers, Homer K. Wright, Odis Smith, and Willis Huston Smith.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 12:00 p.m in Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Hicks officiating. Burial followed in the Gunter Cemetery. Mr. Wright was born July 9, 1954 in Nashville, TN. He worked in construction.

Mr. Wright is survived by wife, Linda (Reagan) Wright; daughter, Patricia Evans and husband, Dave; son, Jason Wright and wife, Samantha; step-son, Jason Duncan and wife, Sue; step-daughters, Crystal Puckett and husband, Jamie and Amber Smith and husband, Kerry; step-sons, Ethan Johnson and Aden Johnson; grandchildren, Tasha, Shawn, Camille, Jameson, Waylon, Mason, Eli and Madi; brother, David Wright; uncles, Jim Brooks and wife, Carolyn and Chick Wright and wife, Jo; aunt, Dean Pittman and husband, Ken.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by father, J.L. Wright and mother, Betty (Brooks) Wright.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Padget officiating.  Burial followed in Fentress Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers included Jason Wright, Kerry Smith, Jason Duncan, Jonathan Wright, Leonard Duncan, Melvin Smith, Shawn Crabtree and Jeff Reagan. Honorary pallbearers included Rick Pile and G. Dan Smith.
