THOMAS RAY DELK

Thomas Ray Delk, age 79, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Delk was born April 3, 1938 in Pall Mall, Tennessee.  He was a garment factory operator.

Mr. Delk is survived by wife, Fonzie Christine (Smith) Delk; three daughters, Margaret Truslow and husband Mark, Vivian Lowe and husband Glenn and Brenda Dills and husband Junior; son, David Delk and wife Pam; sister, Janie Mae Flowers; nephew, Bobby Lynn Flowers; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends especially his Saturday buddies.

Mr. Delk was preceded in death by father, Jessie Denton Delk; mother, Lexie Ina (Pyle) Delk; brother, Billy Roe Delk; and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bishop Justin Cook, Brother Dan Alexander, David Delk, Brother, Charles Dungan, and Brother, Mike Wright officiating.  Burial followed in the Wolf River Cemetery in Pall Mall.  Active pallbearers included James Dills, Brandon Dills, Jessie Cravens, Sam Byrd, Glenn Lowe, Nathan Smith and Kevin Neal.  Honorary pallbearers included Keevin Smith, Junior Dills, Perry Delk, Sam Truslow, Grant Truslow, Kullen Neal, Asher Wilson, Stevie Cook, Mark Truslow and Case Huddleston.

ELMER “PIG” RAMSEY

Elmer “Pig” Ramsey, age 90, of the Banner Springs Community, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Signature Health Care of Fentress County.

Mr. Ramsey was born February 11, 1927 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a sawmill worker.

Mr. Ramsey is survived by brother, Joe Ramsey and wife Judy; three sisters, Margie Richards, Barbara Brannon and Alice Rawls; brothers-in-law, Clifton Campbell, Leo Campbell and Ray Campbell and wife Sue; sisters-in-law, Yevone Jensen and Dolly Ramsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by wife, Ruby Ethel (Campbell) Ramsey; father, Marion Jack Ramsey; mother, Pearl (Baldwin) Ramsey; three brothers, William Green, Henry Ramsey and Johnie Ramsey;  three sisters, Mary Woodson, Laura Stephens and Zola Flatt; brothers-in-law, Condy Campbell, Melvin Campbell, Cletis Campbell, Ruble Campbell, Farlin Flatt and Bill Brannon; and sister-in-law, Ester Crabtree.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Ty Harding officiating.  Burial followed in the Spurlin Cemetery in Tinchtown.  Pallbearers included Chuck Ramsey, Larry Richards, Bill Ramsey, Jason Ramsey, Danny Ramsey, Tim Ramsey, Don Ramsey and Derek Ramsey.

EASTON ALLEN MARTIN

Easton Allen Martin, 9 weeks old, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Cumberland Medical Center.

Easton is survived by parents, Chris and Kayla Martin; sister, Annabelle Grace Martin; grandparents, Leonora Martin and Matt Williams, Donnie and Christine Martin, Chucky and Marilyn Cravens, and J.R. and Jenny Crabtree; great-grandparents, Charlie Cravens, Bernice Carter, Lonnie Winningham, Irene Crabtree and Gab and Sue Williams; great-great-grandmother, Ada Goney.

Easton was preceded in death by grandmother, Darlene Crabtree; great-grandparents, Charlene Cravens, Anna Bell Martin, Donald E. Martin and Casey Crabtree.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Shayne Monday and Bro. Ron Norrod officiating.  Burial followed in the Richards Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Rockford Garrett, Lance Stephens, Adrian Frogge and Jonathan McCoy.

LONNIE E. HULL

Lonnie E. Hull, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

He was born in Armathwaite, TN on July 9, 1929, the son of Horace and Rebecca (Voiles) Hull and sibling of Chester Hull, Hester Vaughn, Alta Hicks, Alene Hull, as well as Gussie, LaVada, Essie and Bessie Hull, all deceased. He married his wife, Charleen (Upchurch) Hull, also deceased, in 1951.

He is survived by his son, Terrence Hull (wife Shawn), and grandchildren, Lauren (Hull) Otradovec (husband Carl), Kevin Chastain (wife Ali) and Peyton Hull and great grandchild, Layla Chastain.

Lonnie attended Alvin C. York high school and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 as a front line rifleman and jeep driver in the Korean War. He earned several decorations including the Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman Badge. For 30 years Lonnie operated Hull’s Exxon in Nashville, TN where he was active in the Lions Club. He then moved back to Fentress County, TN where he later managed the Jamestown Airport for 12 years.

Devoted to the Jamestown First United Methodist Church, he was an active volunteer at the Fentress County Food Bank. He enjoyed helping others and was loved and respected by many.

Family received friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 10, and the service was held Sunday, February 11 at 2 p.m. at the Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lorin Pedigo officiating. Burial was in the Fellowship Cemetery in Armathwaite. Pallbearers included Curtis Upchurch, John Hartman, Mike Choate, Nicholas Hamby, Ralph Wright and Tim Hull.  Honorary pallbearers included Johnny Vaughn, Gary Reed, Jim Buck, Lacy Upchurch, Ruble Upchurch, Roger Pile, Charles Burrey, Harold Dunford, Gerald Dunford, John B. Mullinix, John Buchheit, Jack Upchurch and Wayne Vaughn.

TIM HOLT

Tim Holt, age 56, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Holt was born January 18, 1962 in Charleston, South Carolina.  He was a general laborer.

Mr. Holt is survived by wife, Marilyn (Frye) Holt; three sons, Matthew Warden and wife Michaela, Scottie Warden and wife Amanda and Cody Holt and wife Heather; eleven grandchildren; brother, Wayne Holt; sister, Patricia McKenzie and husband Lester; and mother-in-law, Christine (Beaty) Frye.

Mr. Holt was preceded in death by father, Herbert Holt; mother, Betty (Todd) Holt; sister, Pamela Holt; and father-in-law, Jack Frye.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Darwin Nance officiating. Burial followed in Crockett Cemetery in Jamestown.  Pallbearers included Matthew Warden, Scottie Warden, Leland Warden, Daniel Grinderslev, Robert Holt and Matthew Holt.
