DANNY LEE “RUBE” BERTRAM

Danny Lee “Rube” Bertram, age 70, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Rhea Medical Center.

Mr. Bertram was born June 2, 1947 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a construction crane operator,

Mr. Bertram is survived by partner, Deborah Bertram; daughter, Carmen Weed and husband David; son, Allan Bertram and wife Elizabeth; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren & one on the way; children he loved like his own, Brian Bertram, Tracy Hull and husband Brad and Rachel Johnson and husband Kaleb; two brothers, Roger Bertram and wife Brenda and Ricky Bertram; and three sisters, June Wright, Judy Brown and husband Joe and Joyce King and husband Bobby.

Mr. Bertram was preceded in death by father, Fred Bertram; mother, Nola Bertram; and six brothers, Timmy, Otto, Charles, Jim, David and Ernie Allen Bertram.

The family has chosen Cremation and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

MELISSA LYNN ROBBINS-DURHAM

Melissa Lynn Robbins-Durham, age 49, of Grimsley, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Durham was born December 4, 1967 in Ft. Hood, Texas.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Durham is survived by three daughters, Courtney Robbins-Halfacre, Rockelle Durham and Emily Durham; parents, Carl and Gertrude (Bohannan) Robbins; and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by grandparents, Enos and Marie Robbins and Gladys (Bohannan) Welch and husband Ted.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m in the Clarkrange Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Shawn Durham officiating.  Burial followed in the Clarkrange, Cemetery.  Pallbearers included Dave Merrill, Greg Nelson, Junior Durham, Op McCubbins, Daniel Stepp and Colton LaRue.

NORMA J. HUFF

Norma J. Huff, age 75, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Huff was born March 2, 1942 in Oneida, Tennessee.  She was a garment factory worker.

Mrs. Huff is survived by son, Jeff Huff; daughter, Lisa Huff; two grandchildren, Brian Huff and wife Betsy and Brandon Huff; two great-grandchildren, Lallah Huff and Sophia Shaver; brother, Elmer Ledbetter and wife Debbie; two sisters, Bessie Bowden and Barbara Price and husband Miller; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Huff.

Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by husband, George Henry Huff; mother, Zora (Phillips) Ledbetter; father, Herman Ledbetter; brother, Ervin Ledbetter; and son, Tony Micheal Huff.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Rains officiating.  Burial followed in the  Upchurch Cemetery in Pall Mall, TN.  Pallbearers included Brian Huff, Brandon Huff, Jordan Taylor, Elmer Ledbetter and Miller Price.

BILLY SCOTT SELLS

Billy Scott Sells, age 38, of Allardt, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Sells was born March 17, 1979 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a construction cable installer.

Mr. Sells is survived by mother, Katie (Sells) Davis; father, Ronnie Bruce Stephens; son, Bryon Sells; daughter Jlynn Talley; brother, Timothy Wayne Davis; sister, Leeann Marie Davis; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Mr. Sells was preceded in death by daughter, Brylee Rose Sells; step-father, Ronnie Wayne Davis; and grandparents, George Lester and Alline Sells and Cosby and Mary Stephens.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Alive in the Spirit Church. Memorial services will be held at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Dale Cox officiating.

ROBERT SLAVEN

Robert Slaven, age 76, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Signature Healthcare of Fentress County.

Mr. Slaven was born September 9, 1941 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  He was a retail store owner.

Mr. Slaven is survived by wife, Vicki (Humble) Slaven; son, William “Billy” Slaven; brother, Scotty Slaven; and six sisters, Carol, Tress, Ann, Alta, Ruth and Betty.

Mr. Slaven was preceded in death by first wife, Joyce Slaven; father, Ed Slaven; mother, Lena (Hicks) Slaven; and two brothers, Ralph Slaven and Thomas Slaven.

The family has chosen cremation and a memorial service to be held at a later date.

VICKI KAY STOCKTON

Vicki Kay Stockton, age 59, of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Stockton was born October 15, 1958 in Muncie, Indiana.  She was a bartender.

Mrs. Stockton is survived by husband, Anthony “Tony” Stockton; daughter, Belinda Kay Wagner; son, Jeremy Wagner; eight grandchildren; mother, Janet (Haffner) Keihn and husband Jack; two brothers, Shane Keihn and Tim Keihn; and two sisters, Sherry Hargan and Jackie Hinshaw.

The family has chosen cremation.

ELMER DAVID TIPTON

Elmer David Tipton, age 91, passed away on the 18th of November 2017 in the hospital in Colton, CA.

Mr. Tipton lived in Jamestown until the death of his wife Madge Choate on the 22nd of November 1987.  Together Madge and Elmer raised two sons, Larry and Anthony (Tony).  Larry married Judy Crabtree and they raised two children Jeffrey and Tonya.  Larry and Judy live in Hudson, NH.  Tony married Eva Maldonado and they raised three children, Christina, Stephanie, and John David.  Tony and Eva live in Colton, CA.

Mr. Tipton was a veteran of WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.  He served in the Army for 30 years and spent most of his career in the medical field.  He retired from the Army in July of 1974.  He immediately went to work at the Fentress County Nursing Home where he retired in 1989.

He married Charlene Walker in June of 1987 and immediately moved to Robbins where they lived together until her death in December 2014.

Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Columbus Tipton; mother, Mary Myrtle King; brother, Melvin Christopher Tipton; sisters, Violet Belle Tipton Ramsey, Martha Frankie Stockton Hoosier Tipton.  He is survived by his brother, Lester William Tipton; and sister, Pearlie Tipton Crocket.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Masonic service provided by Masonic Lodge #670 on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Graveside service was held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. CST at the Fentress Memory Gardens in Jamestown, TN with full military honors provided by the Fort Campbell Honor Guard.

JACQUELINE WHITTENBURG

Jacqueline Whittenburg, age 61, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

Mrs. Whittenburg was born June 21, 1956 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Whittenburg is survived by husband of 42 years, Darrell Whittenburg; two daughters, Amanda Jones and husband Anthony and Joni Ipock and husband Petoe; four grandchildren, Courtlynn Conatser, Sidney Ipock, Madyson Ipock and Ryanne Conatser; and three sisters, Darlene Norris and husband Danny, Melissa Goney and husband Shawn and Melanie S. Hicks and husband Johnny.

Mrs. Whittenburg was preceded in death by father, Gordon Cooper; mother, Velma Lee
Cooper; and two brothers, Roger Dale Cooper and Donald Lee Cooper.

Memorial visitation was held Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Benji Cooper officiating.

ELLA MAE WINNINGHAM

Ella Mae Winningham, age 70, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, Decembver 2, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare of Jamestown.

Miss Winningham was born June 8, 1947 in Jamestown, Tennessee.  She was a homemaker.

Miss Winningham is survived by three sisters Teresa Winningham-Hardy, Brenda Taubert and husband Roger and Cecile Blair and husband Walter; two brothers, Jerry Winningham and wife Barbara Sue and Lawrence Winningham and companion Elizabeth Beckney; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Miss Winningham was preceded in death by father, Henry Winningham; mother, Mary Little (Smith) Winningham; and two brothers, Arvil Winningham and Perry Winningham.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Sammie Dunford officiating.  Burial followed in the Union Grove Cemetery in Deer Lodge, TN.  Pallbearers included Travis  Winningham, Jerry Winningham, Brian Taubert, Christopher Strunk, Micah Linder, Tyler Threet, Jeff Hicks and Lucas Myers.
