Nora Copeland
Nora Copeland, age 97, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Signature Health Care of Fentress Co.
Mrs. Copeland was born October 15, 1920 the seventh of eight children born to Eller and John Conatser, Pall Mall, TN. Nora began her career in Fentress County, teaching eight grades in a one-room school house. She rode a horse to her teaching job and received room and board from the parents of students as part of her salary. Nora went to work in Oak Ridge during WWII. Her job was creating car pools and distributing gas ration coupons to drivers. She met her husband, Harlin (a WWII veteran) when she and her sister were passengers in his taxi. Nora and Harlin were married until his death in 1994, a few months prior to their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by daughter, Brinda Copeland & husband, James Thompson; son, Johnny Copeland and wife, Janice; daughter, Lynda South & husband, Tommy; son, Ray Copeland; son-in-law, Edgar Conatser; grandchildren, Ray Conatser, Jr., James Conatser, Joshua Stephens, John Copeland, William Copeland, Tina Norman and husband, Chandler, Melynda Sullivan & husband, Tim; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, Audrey, Lillie, Julianna, Abigail, Callie and Sadie Quinn; special nurses, Kim Hicks and Nickie Threet; and all the staff at Signature Health Care of Fentress Co.
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by husband, Harlin R. Copeland; father, John H. Conatser; mother, Eller (Young) Conatser; and daughter, Jo Nell Conatser.

Betty Rosemary Crabtree
Betty Rosemary Crabtree, age 88, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Crabtree was born July 23, 1930 in London, England. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Crabtree is survived by son, Christopher Mark Crabtree; daughter, Caren Marie Wheeley & husband, Ben; sons, Carl Marc Crabtree & wife, Kandy and Clayton Marc Crabtree; daughter, Cerisa Maria Jackson & husband, Barry; son, Clifton Marc Crabtree & wife, Adonia; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce White.
Mrs. Crabtree was preceded in death by husband, Herman Jackson “Jack” Crabtree; father, Harold Jack Kingham; mother, Dorothy Lillian Margaret (Gynes) Kingham; infant brother; and sister, Hazel Heibricht.

Lillie Nell (Wright) Crisp
Lillie Nell (Wright) Crisp, age 64, passed into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, August 19 at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, IN. She was born on August 12, 1954 to Op and Lizzie (Abbott) Wright of Fentress County, TN.
Lille was a Momma, Nanny, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. We are fairly certain she never met a stranger; no matter where she may have been. Because of that, Lillie’s life was blessed with many friends who were like family. She enjoyed sewing, loved reading, and was an amazing cook. Lillie worked very hard and earned 5 college degrees, primarily in Human Resources and Business management. Her greatest pride and joy was her family; especially her grandchildren.
Welcoming Lillie home are her parents, brothers Billy and Buck, sister and best friend Margaret, and her nephew Billy.

Billy Crouch
Billy Crouch, age 46, of Banner passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at his home.
Mr. Crouch was born July 30, 1972 in Jamestown, TN. He worked at Manchester Tank.
Mr. Crouch is survived by wife, Tonya (Rittenhouse) Crouch; mother, Kathy (Taylor) Crouch; sons, Devin Rittenhouse & wife, Bobbie, Bradley Myers & wife, Bailey and Preston Johnson; eight grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth Crouch & wife, Clarissa.
Mr. Crouch was preceded in death by father, Arthur Crouch.

Barbara Allene Pile
Barbara Allene Pile, 82, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters at her side on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born December 10, 1935, in Jamestown, Tennessee, the daughter of Mabel Conatser.
Barbara graduated from York Institute High School, Jamestown, Tennessee, and married Fred A. Pile on December 24, 1956, in Cookeville, Tennessee. They moved to Muncie, Indiana, in 1957, where they would raise their family. She worked several jobs including Ball Memorial Hospital while attending Ball State University and graduating with her degree in 1988. Barbara retired from Ball State University as a Dietary Manager in 2008.
Barbara was a member of Avondale Sympathy Club, BSU Red Birds, Gaston Church of Nazarene, and also attended Wolf River United Methodist Church, Pall Mall, Tennessee, where she also called home. She enjoyed reading, traveling, hosting parties, shopping, and watching IU Hoosiers, Indiana Fever, and Tennessee Lady Vols basketball games. She especially looked forward to her winters spent in Florida, visiting and playing rummikub with her dear Florida friends.
Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Lane, (husband-Don), Tammie Smith, (husband-Gary), Jackie Kennedy, (husband-Jim), all of Muncie; one sister, Nancy Hancock; special niece, Jody Hancock; special cousin, Judy Norris; all from Jamestown, Tennessee; four grandchildren; Chris Green, (Kristi Mann), Jenna Grile, (husband-Ken), Tyler Eskew, Katelyn Lynch, (husband-Kevin), all of Muncie; six great grandchildren; Taylor Green, Avigail Grile, Ezra Grile, Miriam Grile, William Lynch, and Lucy Lynch, all of Muncie. Also surviving are seven step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, both in Indiana and her home state of Tennessee.
