Donald G. Beaty, age 75, passed away March 20, 2013 at CMC Pineville, in Charlotte NC, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Beaty was born August 30, 1937 in Grimsley, Tennessee to Joe and Cora Beaty.  He was very proud of his humble Appalachian Heritage and loved The Great Smokey Mountains.  Don retired from the United States Air Force in 1976, as a Master Sergeant, after 20 years of honorable service.  He chose to settle in the Myrtle Beach area where he raised his family and worked as a master mechanic at various automotive dealerships. Don enjoyed many hobbies including golfing, motorcycle riding, and spending time with his many friends and family members. He will be best remembered for his willingness to help others, sharing stories, and enjoying life to its fullest.

Mr. Beaty is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ann Beaty as well as two sons, David (Dawn) Beaty and Brian (Laura) Beaty as well as a daughter, Donna (Ed) Lozzi.  “Papa” is also survived by his grandchildren: EJ and Devyn Lozzi; Kristen, Megan and Zach Beaty; Ken and Katherine Beaty.  Don is also survived by his siblings Ruby (Jack) Briere, Leona Bumgarner, David (Gennie) Beaty, Billy (Maxine) Beaty, Junior Beaty, and Glenda Crouch as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by his parents as well as two infant sisters Mary and Zoe.

Funeral services were held Sunday,  March 24, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Boyd H. Jenkins, age 70, of Okeechobee, FL, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Hospice of Okeechobee.

Mr. Jenkins was born December 29, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee.  He was a newspaper pressman.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by daughter, Becky Schoch of Cincinnati, OH; three sons, Jim Hatcher and David Hatcher both of Florida and Terry Gillan of KY; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Doug Jenkins of FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by wife, Shirley (Hall) Jenkins; father, Raymond Earl Jenkins; mother, Pearl (Campbell) Jenkins; and brother, Earl Jenkins.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Smith officiating.  Pallbearers included Jeremy Jenkins, Jeff Jenkins, Johnny Jenkins, Justin Gillan, Buddy Schoch and Mike Hall.

Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.




Bill Williams, age 85, of Allardt, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Signature HealthCARE of Fentress County.

Mr. Williams was born January 30, 1928.

Mr. Williams is survived by brother, Ray Williams and wife Maudean; nieces and nephews, Debbie Williams, Denise Williams Campfield and husband Doug, Darrell Williams and wife Adrienne and Donnie Williams and wife Beth; great-nephews, Troy, Todd, Anthony, Josh and Matthew Williams; and great-great-nephew, Drew Williams.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by parents, Luke and Lilia Pile Williams.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Phillips officiating.  Burial followed in the Fentress Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers included Darrell Williams, Donnie Williams, Doug Campfield, Troy Williams, Todd Williams, Anthony Williams, Joshua Williams and Matthew Williams.

Mundy Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.
