NO SERIOUS INJURIES

Miraculously, there were no serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident Monday, January 15 on Highway 127.  According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, the accident involved a 2011 Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Elbert Rayford, Jr., of Bloomington, Illinois, and a 2004 Ford Mustang, driven by Emily Stephens of Jamestown. The report stated that both vehicles were traveling north, with the Mustang on the right shoulder, and as the truck attempted to pass the Mustang, the driver turned left, into the right side of the trailer, resulting in both vehicles coming to rest against the guard rail.  Ms. Stephens was transported by ambulance to the local hospital for treatment.  Neither the driver of the truck nor a passenger in the Mustang, identified as Charles W. Sloan of Jamestown, were injured in the accident, which was investigated by THP Trooper Jamie Stephens, assisted by the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Department, Ambulance Service, Rescue Squad, Grimsley Fire Department, and the Fentress Co. EMA.
