Notice of Substitute Trustee’s Land Sale

Whereas, WILLIAM E. ASHE and FRANCES E. ASHE executed a certain Deed of Trust to PHILLIP L. CRAWFORD, Trustee, on the 5th day of December, 2009, to secure payment of a certain note to the BANK OF CROSSVILLE, BRANCH OF THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF PIKEVILLE, Pikeville, Tennessee, converted to FIRST FARMERS AND COMMERCIAL BANK, a continuation of First National Bank of Pikeville, Pikeville, Tennessee, said trust conveyance being of record in Book 167, Pages 164-169, Register’s Office, Fentress County, Tennessee, to which reference is hereby made for full contents thereof;

AND WHEREAS, due to the inability of PHILLIP L. CRAWFORD to act as Trustee, HOWARD L. UPCHURCH was appointed Substitute Trustee by the holder of said note, which appointment is of record in Book 256, Page 43, Register’s Office, Fentress County, Tennessee;

Subject to a 20 foot wide Right-Of-Way as conveyed to Kenneth Scarbrough and wife, Bessie Scarbrough, their heirs and assigns, forever, which right of way is recorded by Deed of Right-Of-Way in Deed Book J6, Page 245, Register’s Office, Fentress County, Tennessee.

Being the same property conveyed to Melvin Ashe and wife, Frances E. Ashe, by virtue of a General Warranty Deed from Phillip Jerry Yelinek and wife, Rhonda Gay Yelinek, recorded June 21, 2005 in Book 81, Page 449, Register’s Office, Fentress County, Tennessee. Melvin L. Ashe is now deceased, his date of death being May 21, 2008 and is survived by his wife, Frances E. Ashe, who took title to the subject property as the surviving tenant by the entireties, there having been no divorce or separation with them.

Being the same property conveyed to William E. Ashe and Frances E. Ashe, by deed of record in Book 167, Page 164, Register’s Office, Fentress County, Tennessee.

The right is reserved to adjourn the day of the sale to another day, time, and place certain without further publication, upon announcement at the time and place set forth above. The sale held pursuant to this Notice may be cancelled at the Successor Trustee’s option at any time.

If the highest bidder cannot pay the bid within the time period established by the FIRST FARMERS AND COMMERCIAL BANK, following the sale, then the Substitute Trustee will accept the next highest bidder, at their highest bid, which will then be deemed the successful bidder.

This sale is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

Public Notice

Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program to Begin Taking Applications

The City of Jamestown and Fentress County have been awarded a Tennessee Housing Development Agency HOME Rehabilitation grant for the purpose of bring homes up to the Southern Building Code Standards. Applications will be taken for those interested in having repairs made to their home at the Fentress County Courthouse on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.. To be eligible you must have owned your home for a period of one year and presently live in the home. You must be low-income (information on income guidelines will be available). In addition, your home must need repairs to bring it up to local standards. This is not a remodeling program and only those in need will be considered for this grant. Mobile homes are not eligible for the THDA HOME Program.

As with all federal funding, you must provide certain information in order to apply. In order to assist in having your application taken quickly, you will need the following information to submit your application:

Full names, amount of income, and social security numbers for everyone living in your home.

Verification of income, which can be either a copy of a government check (Social Security, SSI, VA, AFDC, etc.), a copy of a bank statement which shows the amount of direct deposits of government checks, and award letter for a government check, a copy of a paycheck stub showing your year-to-date earnings, and official statement from your employer which shows your income tax statement for self-employed individuals.

A copy of the deed to your property.

A copy of your property tax statement with receipt showing 2015 taxes paid.

A copy of your homeowner’s insurance which provide the amount of your coverage.

For the application, you will need to state your regular monthly payments, the name, address and phone number to your mortgage institution and the repairs needed to be made to your home.

This grant complies with federal regulations and will not discriminate based on race, creed, color, national origin, sex, marital status, or handicap.
