Sealed bids will be received in the District Office of the Tennessee Division of Forestry, 390 South Lowe Ave., Suite #10, Cookeville, TN 38501-4702 until 9:00 a.m., May 31, 2013 at which time they will be publicly opened.  Only bids submitted on bid forms furnished by the Division  of Forestry will be considered.  The Division of Forestry estimates but does not guarantee, that there is 465,924 board feet (international 1/4 inch Rule) of sawtimber available for removable.

The successful bidder will be required to sign a timber sale contract at which time they will pay the full purchase price and post a performance bond equaling seven (7) percent of the sale price of the timber.  Both of these amounts will be in the form of a certified or cashiers check payable to the Tennessee Division of Forestry.

The purchaser’s on-site supervisor must have successfully completed Tennessee’s Master Logger Program, or an equivalent program in another state.

A tour of the sale areas will be given by Division of Forestry personnel on May 13, 2013.  Those interested should meet at the Pickett State Forest office: 4266 Pickett Park Hwy., Jamestown, TN 38556 at 9:00 a.m. CST.
