Lady Buffaloes take Third Place In District 6-A Tournament with 57-45 Win Over Jackson Co.

After being upset in the semifinal round of the District 6-A Tournament by  Clay County last week, the Clarkrange Lady Buffaloes bounced back to take a 57-45 win over Jackson County in the consolation game on Monday night.

The game was close for the first half, with Clarkrange holding a 12-10 first period advantage, and 28-23 at the half.

The Lady Buffaloes pulled out to a double-digit lead at the end of the third period with balanced scoring as Gracie Bush and Kassie Monday each had 5 points in the period and Hannah Garrett and Kaylie Monday each bagged a 3-pointer.

Clarkrange put the game away in the final frame as they hit 9 of 12 from the free throw line to outscore the Lady Blue Devils 13-12 to post the 12-point win.

Gracie Bush, who tied for game-high honors with teammate Kassie Monday, scored 10 of her points from the free throw line, and the Lady Buffaloes hit 19 of 24 free throws for the game.

Charity Crabtree and Kaylie Monday each added 10 points, with Hannah Garrett getting 7 and Reece Stover 2 points.

Jaycie Woolbright and Kyliegh Hardy led Jackson County with 10 points each, with Bella Wilmouth and Kaitlyn Pippin adding 8 each, Madison Fisher 6, and Erika Davidson 3 points.
