Jamestown Water & Gas Wins TAUD Region 4 Best Tasting Water Contest

The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD) held the Region Four Best Tasting Water Contest at the Park Theatre  in McMinn-ville on Wednesday, February 21st.  Jamestown Water & Gas was awarded Best Tasting Water in Region 4.   

TAUD Region Four consists of Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Roane, Smith, Trousdale, Warren and White counties.

Other utilities from Region Four submitting drinking water samples for competition were: Bondecroft Utility District, Byrdstown Water Department, Crab Orchard Utility District, Crossville Water & Sewer, DeKalb Utility District, Jamestown Gas & Water, McMinnville Utilities, Warren County Utility District and West Warren-Viola Utility District.

Chris Hampton with Rural Development, David Phillips with TDEC, and Dan Sellers with the McMinnville Chamber of Commerce participated as judges for the contest.  The drinking water samples were judged on their clarity, bouquet, and taste.

TAUD will conduct the Best Tasting Water in Tennessee Contest in each of the Association’s eleven regions in upcoming months.  The winner of each regional competition will compete at TAUD’s 2018 Business Utility Conference at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Thursday, August 9th.  The statewide winner represents Tennessee in the Great American Taste Test at the National Rurally Water Association Rural in Washington DC in February of 2019.
