Funeral Services Held For Retired Educator Patricia (Patsy) Beaty Potter

patsi-potterMrs. Patricia (Patsy) Mae Beaty Potter, age 73 of Jamestown, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at her home.

Patsy, as we all knew her best, was born April 2, 1943 in Middlesboro, KY.  The only child of loving parents Clyde “Hutch” Beaty and Faye Burke Beaty, who preceded her in death.

Patsy was a retired educator with 33 years of dedicated service to the Fentress Co. School System and its children, having taught at Clarkrange and Allardt Elementary Schools.  She was a very caring and creative teacher who enjoyed working with arts and crafts with her students.  She always displayed their art outside the classroom door on a student-made bulletin board.

During her teaching career, Patsy became a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international society that promotes professional and personal growth to key women educators.

Prior to her teaching career, Patsy was employed for 10-1/2 years at the Fentress Co. Human Resources Agency where she made many lasting friendships.

Patsy was a long time member of the Jamestown First Baptist Church.

Patsy graduated from the Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute, Class of 1961.  She was a member of the 4-H Club, the Beta Club, and graduated in the top ten of her class.  Patsy graduated from Tennessee Technolo-gical University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  She earned her Master’s Degree in Administration & Super-vision from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.
