Funeral Services Held For Deputy Perry R. Stockton

perrystockton-color-161126-0001-1Mr. Perry R. Stockton, age 66, of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Tennova Healthcare-Jamestown.

Mr. Stockton, born June 30, 1950 in Jamestown, was a career law enforcement officer and at the time of his death, was serving in the capacity of Deputy Sheriff for the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Stockton began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer for the City of Jamestown Police Dept, and then served as Deputy Sheriff under four different Sheriffs, including the position of Chief Deputy for a portion of his career.  He also served as a K-9 officer.

Stockton is survived by a daughter, Kim Manis and her husband, Doug; son, Stephen Stockton and wife Brandi; grandchildren, Tanner, Mackenzie, Taylor, Doug Jr. and Zion; mother of his children, Vickie Stockton; brother, James Stockton and wife, Shirley; and sisters, Teresa Koger and Peggy Frazier.

Mr. Stockton was preceded in death by a son, James Ray Stockton; his father and mother, Clyde Stockton and Dorothy (Creselious) Stockton; a brother, Charles Stockton, and a sister, Bernice Turner.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Jennings Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Mitchell officiating, with burial following in the Fentress Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers included Chucky Cravens, Gary Ledbetter, Derrick Richards, Rockford Garrett, Jackie Rosenbaum, and Luke Tipton.

Honorary pallbearers included Bobby Stockton, Ricky Turner, Billy Stockton, Darrell Turner, Randy Turner, and Gary Stockton.

The Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown was in charge of the services.
