FIreIMG_3200Four units from the Fentress County Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched Friday afternoon, October 23 to battle a fire at Duncan Bros. Body Shop, located just off the Taylor Place Road.  The E-911 Dispatch Center received a call about 1:15 p.m. of the fire, and dispatched fire units to the scene, but by the time the first unit arrived, smoke was billowing from the structure and a large portion of the building was already engulfed in flames, and despite efforts by the fire units, the structure sustained heavy damage from the smoke and fire which gutted most of the building.  The fire reportedly started as Willis (Lefty) Duncan was welding and sparks from the welder ignited some nearby material, with the fire quickly spreading.  Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.  Units 1 and 2 from Jamestown, along with the Allardt unit and a tanker truck from East Jamestown all responded to the fire, along with officers from the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Office, Rescue Squad, EMS, and other emergency and volunteer personnel.FireIMG_9899
