Thanks to the donation of the Pinckley Family, the Fentress County Library was able to apply for a grant from the State of Tennessee.

This was a matching grant, which means the county or other local entity has to pay the first $100,000, and the state will pay the next $100,000.

Kathy Goad, Fentress County Library Director, stated:  “We are proud to announce that we did receive this grant, but it is only on the building.  It will not pay for anything else.  All the shelving and anything else we get we have to pay for, so this will really be helpful. We were able to add a 2,000 square foot room and a 10’ x 15’ storage room.

“There are a lot of people we would like to thank for all the help getting everything done,” Mrs. Goad continued:  “The Pinckley Family for making this possible and for their generous donation, Also my staff: Donna Conatser, Geneva Hoover and Jordon Cravens, the Library Board, Gary Peters, the Fentress County Commission, County Executive J. Michael Cross, Jamestown City Mayor Ryan Smith, D.T. Construction, Marsha Delk and Kelly Jones at the Finance Office.  We also received $5,000 from the Dorothy Kyler Foundation for children’s items.  We are grateful for everyone’s help and we know how much these additions will be used.”
