Fentress County Historical Society Debuts Special Program Series

Fentress County Poet Laureate Leonard anderson will kick-off the Historical Society’s Special Program Series on October 8, 2019.

Leonard Anderson, Fentress County’s first Poet Laureate, will present the debut program in the Fentress County Historical Society’s new Special Program’s Series. Scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 11:30am-12:30pm, the program will be held at the Scoiety’s new home, located on South Smith Street, directly across the street from the Fentress County Courthouse.

Named by the Fentress County Commission as Poet Laureate, Mr. Anderson has a unique and colorful style of performing his original stories, songs, and music that reflect the way Fentress Countians have lived and worked for generations. One of these songs, “The Way we Work,” is representative of his style of presentation and is a favorite of audiences wherever he performs.

The Special Program Series will continue throughout the coming months, with programs that will educate, entertain, and inspire both general audiences and those that are interested in specific topics. Program dates will vary; but will usually be presented weekdays, during the lunch hour, so that individuals and groups working downtown and nearby will be able to attend.
