Darlene Brannon Is Candidate for School Board in 2nd District

Darlene Brannon has announced that she will be a candidate for the position of School Board Member in the Second District, and issued the following statement:

“I am Darlene Brannon and I am asking for your vote in the August 2 Election for School Board Member.

Phil and I live in the Second District.  We have been farming in Pall Mall for 39 years.  Our son, Phillip, is a teacher at Clarkrange High School, and his family are residents of the Valley also.

I worked full time for 21 years with my monther-in-law Janice Brannon Lee at State Farm Insurance.  When Jan retired, I completed by education and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education.  Upon graduation I was privileged to teach in both Cumberland and Fentress Counties.

I am proud to say that I have been and always will be a classroom teacher.  Those skills are serving me well as I care for our two grandchildren; Dailey and Lyman.

If elected I have an obligation to serve all persons associated with our educational system.  As a Christian, a parent, a grandparent, teacher, and school board member I pledge to you — If our children are our future and our greatest asset, then the persons educating them should be the best paid, professionally respected, and held to the highest moral standards.”

Thank you,

Darlene Brannon
