Clarkrange Woman Charged In June 22 Shooting Incident



On June 22, 2015, officers from the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting incident at 1111 W. Rock Quarry Road in Clarkrange.

Upon arrival, they found a Morgan County resident, identified as Randal Taylor, standing in the yard holding his stomach, who reported to the officers that he had been shot by Katty Kerley, who lives at the residence.

Mr. Taylor was rushed to a nearby landing zone and airlifted by helicopter to U-T Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment of his injuries.

After securing the scene, evidence was collected from the residence which resulted in the arrest of Ms. Katty Kerley, 54, who was charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, and taken into custody with a bond set at $300,000.

At press time on Tuesday, Mr. Taylor was listed in stable condition at U-T Hospital.
