Children’s Christmas Shopping Spree Plus Fundraiser Set Dec. 7

This Christmas Season, the Jamestown Rotary Club, with the help of many volunteers, will again be carrying on the tradition and celebrating the 58th year of the “Children’s  Christmas Shopping Spree Plus.”  and expect to take over 300 underprivileged Elementary School Children, and over 100 Head Start Children shopping to purchase Christmas gifts for themselves, and their family members.  It’s the child’s choice.

Money will be raised during the annual “Radio Thon” conducted by WDEB and WCLC on Saturday afternoon, December 7 from 1:00 till 3:00 p.m. following the Rotary Club Christmas Parade that same Saturday morning.  “The Children’s Shopping Spree – Plus,” has grown so much in the past 58 years, that “PLUS” was recently added to the title in order to make available any surplus funds to benefit children throughout the year as needs arise. In addition, other pledges and donations will be received from interested citizens.  Last year the event exceeded the goal of $20,000 by raising over $25,000, which allowed the organization to extend Christmas gifts to Foster Children and Children of  Soldiers Serving Our Country Stationed Away From Home.
