Arrests Made On Drug Charges
Two separate drug raids over the weekend by local law enforcement authorities resulted in a quantity of illegal drugs being seized and four persons being arrested.
According to Fentress County Sheriff Chucky Cravens, officers from his department, along with Jamestown City Police Chief Ken Hancock and other officers from his department, and Constables Larry Durham, Jackie Rosenbaum and Ken Fearing executed two search warrants Saturday evening which resulted in the arrests and drug seizure.
The first search warrant was executed at the residence of Sam Huff at 1016 Sunshine Lane, where officers reportedly discovered and seized a quantity of pills, including morphine and other narcotics.
Mr. Huff was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II and Schedule II ?Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Resale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, since there was a 15-year-old juvenile in the residence.
Also arrested at the Huff residence was Charles (Chucky) Price, who was charged with Sale of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule II ?and Schedule III?Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Resale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Bond for Mr. Huff was set at $10,000, while bond for Mr. Price was set at $20,000.
In a separate incident, a second search warrant was executed at the residence of David Jordan Jones on the Old Allardt Road, after which Mr. Jones was charged with Sale of Schedule II ?Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule II?Controlled Substance, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, since there was also a 15-year-old juvenile at the residence.
A second subject, identified as Ms. Kimberly Slaven of 1005 Shepard Road, Jamestown, was also arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II ?Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bond for Mr. Jones was set at $20,000, while bond for Ms. Slaven was set at $7,500.
All subjects charged were scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on Tuesday, January 6.
Sheriff Cravens also said that although no arrests have been made yet in connection with the rash of burglaries which have occurred during the past two months, he and his department were working with law enforcement agencies in surrounding counties and had developed some good leads which were being investigated.
He also expressed his appreciation to the general public for continuing to provide tips which help in the fight against drugs, and to the Jamestown Police Department and the Constables for their cooperation.
