20 Cases Heard In Criminal Court

Criminal Court for Fentress County was held Monday, September 21, 2015 with Judge Shayne Sexton on the Bench, with 20 cases heard.

Bates Jeremy Rich of 1030 Allardt Hwy., Jamestown, pled guilty to charges of Theft Under $500, Theft Over $1,000, Theft Over $10,000 (2 counts) Burglary, and Facilitation of Reckless Aggravated Assault, and was sentenced to split confinement of 305 days in jail, was placed on supervised probation for 8 years, was ordered to pay court costs and fines of $450, and a hearing was set for January 25, 2016 to determine restitution.

Jessica Leigh Adkins of 131 Bunker Hill Road, Jamestown, entered a guilty plea to the charge of Theft Over $1,000 and was sentenced to serve 3 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections, and ordered to make restitution of $1,987.52.

Shanna Marie Turner of 121 Colyers Loop, Jamestown, pled guilty to charges of Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance wih Intent to Sell, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Felonious and Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, and was sentenced to split confinement of 365 days in jail, placed on supervised probation for 8 years, was ordered to pay $1,084 Court Cost, plus a $2,000 fine, make a $1,000 contribution to the Jamestown Police Department and a $1,000 contribution to the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Department, and forfeituedd all seized money.

James Burton of Jamestown, entered a guilty plea to charges of Violation of Order of Protection (2 counts) and was sentenced to split confinement of 483 days in jail, was placed on probation for 2 years, and all weapons and ammunition seized were forfeited to the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department.

Leonard Thomas Norris of 945 Norris Road, Clarkrange, pled guilty to charges of Felonious Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver and Aggravated Assault.  He was sentenced to serve 6 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections.

Nathan James Payne of 1925 Roslin Road, Jamestown, entered a guilty plea to charges of Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest and was sentenced to split confinement of 132 days in the Fentress County Jail, 11 months and 29 days supervised probation, was ordered to pay $639 court cost, plus $100 restitution to the Fentress Co. Sheriff’s Department  and stay in jail until accepted to a long-term in-patient rehab program.

Owen Ezra Skinner of 250 Beragona Lane, Crossville, pled guilty to charges of Theft Of Property Over $1,000 (2 counts) and was sentenced to serve 2 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections and was ordered to make $250 restitution.

Jesse Reed Jones of 831 Riverchase Trail, Clarkrange, entered a guilty plea to charges of Sale of Schedule II Morphine and TennCare Fraud, and was sentenced to 6 years of supervised probation, was ordered to pay $1,084 in court cost and a $2,000 fine, forfeit $500 to the Fentress County Sheriff’s Department and make $619.70 restitution.  The defendant also agreed to end his TennCare coverage.
