operation-christmas-childThrough the continued generosity and love of the people of the Fentress County and surrounding area, this year’s Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Collection was another overwhelming success, with a total of 11,466 boxes filled.  On Sunday evening, following a special service at the First Baptist Church, volunteers from several area churches and organizations united to pack the shoe boxes into larger boxes, and are shown above with the boxes before they were loaded onto trucks for shipping to regional collection centers for final shipping to the various countries of need.  The project is coordinated by Dr. Chris and Paula Sewell, who gave all the credit for the success of the project to wonderful people of the area, stating:  “We are overwhelmed by the response this year.  We have again been so blessed to partner with you, the wonderful people of Fentress and surrounding counties, who have a heart for children, to help carry the water of Jesus that can be done through this shoebox ministry.  We again thank you for all the shoeboxes of love.”
